Hello,

Is there a possibility to open EU accounts? I'm interested for higher leverage.

Are metals available to be traded from the usual forex account using Metatrader? If yes what is the leverage?

Thank you in advance.

They recently closed the UK branch and only accept accounts through the US broker, so no higher leverage or metals.

I have been having problems on my free exn Desktop pro live account. I get Crash dumps several times a session. Tech support says they have a patch coming out to repair this problem. Been told the patch would be out in a week twice. Still not out.

What I find amazing is that I cannot find anyone else on the internet who has posted about this problem except one post on thier facebook page. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Im told its the studies in the charts causing this crash dump. A buddy of mine opened a Demo Desktop pro account and it does the same thing.

MY computer is running Windows 7 64 bit.
My friend is running windows 8 64 bit.

Any thoughts?

Im demoing the pay for limits account. Was loving the platform and executions etc, until a trade got stuck all day friday,"off quotes" could not close or ammend the position in any of the platforms, MT4 , desktop pro or mb web!! Obviously not a problem being demo, If I do go live I would go with MB , but after browsing the forums there is it seems tech problems in live accounts as well as demo platforms. since Jan 1st had a full day of not being able to place a trade, and this stuck trade. In a live account this would be very worrying!!

It's not a concern. Their demo environment is where a lot of testing is done. I can't remember the last time I had a stuck trade in a Live account (it's been years). And, you don't just sit and stare at it if it does happen. You call the trade desk and they fix it in a second. The concern is unwarranted.

Question--
Did MBT just turn on a hedging flag in their MT4 platform? While I despise MT4, I am stuck testing it within it for the moment. In the last few hours, I am getting "Hedging Prohibited" errors and I cannot do anything. I had a script that opens and closes trades at levels, simple. But as orders filled, rather than closing the old positions, it opened new positions such that I am 'flat' but with nearly 100 opened orders. No biggie before as I just kept trading using offline reports to know my true position. But now, I cannot do anything because buying or selling is triggering "Hedging Prohibited" errors.

Anyways, any ideas, thoughts, suggestions would be great. Fed up with constant changing of the playing field with MBT and forex in general.

Thanks!

Isn't hedging prohibited in the USA by default (read the NFA)...?
"hey hey what can I do"

Of course it is not allowed, but before today, I could place trades in both directions. Without problems. I literally cannot make a trade now because MT4 has both long AND short open trades. So if I buy, I am hedging the short trade, if I sell, I am hedging the long trade. Luckily, I created like 8 MT4 accounts and can just leave the broken ones be.

And please do not get me started on hedging. If a broker is using FIFO, there is no such thing as hedging.

Buy 10 micro
Sell 8 micro, you are long 2 micro
Sell 8 more, now you are short 6.
Buy 6 micro, now you are flat.

First in, first out those trades, sure some will be loses. But as soon as you are flat, the PnL is the same. Hedging is just for tax purposes and mind-fooking yourself into believing you win% is higher than it is. IMHO.

Cheers!

Thanks for the info. Are you based in US?

there does seem to be problems with their servers on live accounts doing a internet search. Is the desktop pro that I've downloaded for the demo account, the same as the live account version?

@egkid, is your off quotes problem in demo or live account?

thanks guys

One-Click Trading on Navigator Pro platform.

Just a quick question, Justin. I have my One-Click Trading Trade Type Preferences set to Limit Order.
But... One-Click Trading doesn't send a limit order at the bid/ask price when I click short/long to enter a trade, does it?
Perhaps it operates differently with other asset classes, but in Forex... we just send a market order?

Just wanted a clarification... because I see no evidence of Limit orders in my Order Book.
Thanks in advance.

I am in the US and I have been trading with them for years. Issues with live accounts are few and far between.

The Limit order is placed up to x above the current ask when buying. In other words, it isn't a Limit that won't execute. It just prevents slippage, but is a market order.

Thanks IndyTrader,

I've found myself using it more and more lately. I wanted to understand it completely.
I haven't had any problems with executions, and my Limit Offset is set to Fixed, 0.0.
I won't tinker with it.

Well, that's sort of dangerous because you are basically saying you only want to pay the ask price and nothing higher. The goal of the 1-click setting is to get you in.
