Well when I used Moneybookers it was almost next day. I think it depends how you deposit. I always use Moneybookers or Paypal - you are protected and it'smuch quicker both ways!

I deposited by credit card. Anyways, they reply to me and said they made mistake. I'll go back to Pepperstonefx and Oanda for my FOREX needs. Good thing I didn't deposit a lot of money. I care more about receiving my money than saving on few pips on the spread.

I have experienced quite large slippage recently last night, the platform price has frozen several times this morning and price is still frozen, data is missing and I have another two feeds which are running fine. Quite strange behaviour from IC markets price feed and platform just recently. Will update when things are back to normal. Missed quite a few trades this morning and this is a Live account.

dont think there is any IC markets reps here, if you can live with slippage, discons, price feed errors and missing candles, go for it. I use them but must admit they have been pretty shitty recently.

true, I did notice some server issue this morning UK time but this is not common.
I was in a few trades and couldn't close 1 but the market was moving very slowly and they fixed the problem in a couple of mins so it didn't bother me much.
I hear you regarding slippage but it is both +ve and -ve slippage.

Really? I could execute trades this afternoon but then got disconnected mid trade, not sure whats going on with them to be honest. I am looking for another broker, the journey continues lol!

"As promised, here is the official statement and explanation from IC Markets regarding recent latency/slippage issues:

"IC Markets would like to update Donna Forex users regarding slippage issues clients are seeing on some orders, we are currently working with our technology and liquidity providers to rectify what we understand the cause to be.

I have outlined what we understand the causes of this problem to be below and what we are doing to improve our True ECN trading environment.


Latency

We have identified several areas where latency could be a contributing factor to the slippage. Latency can arise from the MT4 server, network/wire and aggregator (Integral).

MT4 and network latency contribute the least amount to the total execution time of a clients order, however, reducing time to market will ensure clients are able to trade on the liquidity at the top of book and closest to their requested price, thus reducing the slippage.

Next weekend the 16th we plan to upgrade components on the MT4 server which will resolve any latency issues. Furthermore, we are currently speaking with Integral to improve the line between our MT4 server and their servers, this will result in further latency reductions.

While these numbers aren't large (we are talking milliseconds), it will have orders to market sooner so clients can trade on fresh liquidity, ultimately leading to less slippage.


Liquidity

We are seeing some orders being rejected by the LPs, others are hitting stale quotes. This essentially means clients are not getting the top of book price, the order is sweeping the book and slippage is occurring. The increase in execution speed during news spikes is directly related to this problem. We are working with the LPs to see the rejections reduced and have removed one LP permanently who was constantly rejecting and thus increasing the latency and fill time.

Two major LP's APIs are currently having issues which is causing quotes to stay in Integral (stale quote). This causes trades to reject, a confirmation of the reject can take longer than normal so the order can't sweep the book in Integral and move to the next LP. We understand the most important of these LP's will have their API fixed and ready for trade from Sunday evening, the other LP has been removed from our feed until their API is fixed, this wont affect spreads.. These changes alone should see an immediate improvement in execution.

We believe our trading conditions have been of a high standard for tick scalpers and automated traders in the past and see this current performance as a minor setback in an otherwise improving environment for traders globally. We hope to surpass the performance previously experienced by tick scalpers and automated traders on the IC Markets platform once we have completed the above solutions. We expect server upgrades to occur next weekend and talks with our LPs have begun and some changes already made. We will update you on this situation as the information is made available to us".

My Demo evaluation didn't see any slippage at all, my stops were filled exactly 8.0pips even on fast moving prices. Do you experience the slippage yourself? Is it only happening on live server?

Are you seriously judging a broker's execution quality by their demo server?

How long have you been in this game?

You cannot test the slippage in the demo account. The demo account is the perfect world because there is no real money exchanging , so the broker don't have to find liquidity for your order.

That's why there are several parts to my question, about tick scalpers and live server.

You are well respected in this forum, but you are acting like all-knowing. I don't yet have a live account with this broker, that's why I'm downloading the demo and asking the question. I don't know everything like you do. I'm not as smart as you are, and maybe you really know EVERYTHING about this business, but I wasn't asking you.

Oh, I think I had you mixed up with another member. I thought you were the guy who was just boasting about 5+ years of experience and put some noob down for not knowing some of the basics, so I was going to jump on your post in a 'taste of your own medicine' type response.

But yeah, you're not him, so my bad.

If it helps, as far as tick scalpers go you absolutely need to test in a live environment over a few months before you can see if a broker is going to do well. Tick scalping is very over saturated and liquidity drys up quickly across brokers when popular tick scalping EAs all hit the same signal at once.

Edit: I say a few months since conditions may change on your account depending on how the broker flags you for order handling. You wouldn't be a good candidate for internalization or b-booking (where they might not be going to the market when they deal to you, so your orders execute differently, often faster/cleaner,) if you run a tick scalper but they might take a while to identify that you are before adjusting anything on their back end. This is speaking generally about any broker, not IC, but IC has the ability to b-book along with any other broker who uses Integral... it's actually a highlighted feature by Integral when they pitch their services to brokers.
