DislikedHello Pipbull!
Your thread is amazing. It one on the several gems on FF.
Thank you for maintaining your journal here.
And i would ask you, if you can post your basic stats for 2012 year. (number of trades, win/loss ratio, av.win vs aw. loss, profit factor, total R etc).
I also was long on EURJPY of one of my automated systems, but made only 3,4 R of this huge trend.
Thank you man for so great information here.Ignored
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you are getting some benefit from my thread.
In some ways I was sort of waiting for this question to arise. Everyone wants to know the performance of a system, this is natural and I am (was) no different. The short answer is I don't know exactly but I have a pretty good idea.
I am of the opinion that most of these statistics do not really matter. It is easy to hung up on this sort of thing. When I used to track this information I found that I was more concerned about improving the statistics on my spreadsheet rather than just focusing on the act of executing trades. These two issues although related are vastly different for your brain to manage.
My results improved significantly when I let go of worrying about tracking these numbers. In hindsight it was kind of like "not seeing the wood from the trees". The only number I am concerned about is the annual ROI and that number was around 60% for the previous calendar year.
I hesitate in posting this number as people often want to see proof which is funny as I am not answerable to anyone other than myself (and perhaps my wife). People have wildly different expectations of what is a good return but for me I am very happy with this number.
By the way, congrats on you E/J trade, making a good profit (3R +) is always a good thing regardless of what gets left on the table. It does not matter that others may have made more, because I can guarantee there would be plenty of people trying to short that run and losing money hand over fist. More often than not these trades will never appear on a thread in all there losing glory.....funny that.
All the best.
