I understand it is off-topic but this analysis it was liked in other EURUSD-related threads, plus the Canadian dollar is one of the components (9%) of the Dollar Index, which is basically the reversed copy of the EURUSD. So maybe it can be of interest. If not, please just discard and delete, as well as, accept my apology.

This is my view on USD/CAD after recent USDX weakness and short setup confirmation:

When price failed the 1.0050 level, the "M-for-Murder" pattern was possible and already in the making. The 'M-for-Murder' pattern started a push lower into the 1.0030 area, the next level of daily support. The failure of longs started within the area of a weekly short setup.

I now see 2 possible scenarios going forward:

Scenario 1. The 1.0030 area is the next extension long on the daily chart. If it holds we should have some sort of retest of highs (see scenario 2 below). If the 1.0030 area breaks we have a continuation lower and a confirmation of a weekly short setup. Notice that this is not going to be straight down, we will have some sort of tradable setup short after this. Let's be patient.

Scenario 2. If the 1.0030 holds then it means bulls are participating to the next move higher into recent highs and even new highs. I do not anticipate this scenario due to the short setup in the Dollar Index (but anything can happen).

I would rather not break 3500 now.... We would get better follow through in European/NY overlap session.....

Cancelling add order at 3505... for now just going with the 3430 entry from this morning....

my TP stands at 9761 btw have a look at that beautifull double bottom that helped bulls in the last rally.

Speculation like thin market conditions

Take profit order set to book half of remaining position at 3523.... will let the last 25% of original position ride.

Although I expect a quick jump once 3500 is breached, (most likely Wednesday) there are additional option barriers at 3525 and 3550... I want to get some more profit on the books and look to reload lower on a pullback....

If we jump all the way to 3550, blowing right through 3525 on high volatility, I'll still have the last 25%...

3525 and 3550 option barriers won't be this tough.... but there is another large one like this at 3600....

The People's Bank of China decrees.... EURUSD will not trade 3500 !

We’re at 1.3492 within an ace of taking out the 1.3500 barrier interest.


C’mon we should all club together and try and take out the 1.3500 barrier option interest.

this is my up-to-date view on the GBP/USD:

Bulls defending the 1.5665 level could mean a possibility for the move higher to resume. Participation was not strong but enough to defend the weekly support area. I see two scenario unfolding:

Scenario 1. If the 1.5830 level will oppose resistance the sequence of measured moves lower will continue and potentially bring price into the 1.5600 area (1st target) and then 1.5480 (2nd target).

Scenario 2. Should price move above the 1.5870 level, the weekly support will be confirmed and price could continue higher after a retracement.
The retracement could bring price down tot 1.5790-1.5800 (this level could be different and it will be defined later on as price develops) area before a continuation higher.

A EURUSD close in the 3490's bodes very well for this barrier to fall soon....

It must be becoming clear that no reasonable amount of defense will hold back this market from at least knocking the option out...

There is no way that option survives European Equity opening Wednesday.... If it even takes that long to knock it out....

Watch the first hour after roll over.... The other side of the option might well take advantage of thin conditions to knock it out....

I have to say I am surprised we didn't just drift back to 3470/80 and oscillate the NY afternoon away....

Algorithms that use the daily Globex close are going be affected by closing in the nineties versus closing in the 70's....

USDJPY looking tempting...

Caution advised as recent highs are near long term significant levels and a deeper and/or longer consolidation period would be healthy before resumption of uptrend.... but then again this is a manipulated pair so the rules are skewed in the longs favor.... Maybe this is only a piece of a larger more complex correction....

I think not as corrections usually, but not always, stay within the corrective channel, and breakout signals the end of the correction

Putting the add order back on now that we are approaching prime market conditions... I expect this 3500 level to break in the opening minutes of European equities...

FXlive is reporting rumors of another option barrier at 3505.... I don't really believe that one.... just in case though I've raised the add order to trigger at 3507 bid...
