Quoting firehorseDislikedHi
Yay!
Picture uploaded fine.
James when you post a reply, underneath where you type in is a section called addtional options.
In there is a section called Attach files. Click on the button called Manage Attachments and the browse to select the file you want to upload.
Back to my original message ...
I've attached a picture of what I think James means. Data source is GMT+1.
Not quite sure "also the close of the second bar must be under the entire previous bar and vise versa". Would appreciate if you could use the above examples to explain further.
Also, what is the usual entry strategy (e.g. on the first one, do you enter on the 2nd bar or 4th bar & why) and exit strategy (any way to capture all those pips before knowing the fact).

Quoting Patrick_RhodesDislikedI agree with you that too many traders on a system diminishes, and that trading one method worked better in the past. What exactly are the reasons for this? Since you do not believe in market manipulation or anti-trading, I am interested to see how you will explain this.Ignored
Quoting merlinDisliked...my most profitable forex trading is one half of a cash/futures arb system (pairs trading). ...Ignored
Quoting RedlegDislikedHow often do you find tradable arbitrage opportunities between cash forex and futures?Ignored

Quoting merlinDislikedall the time man
dont think of just the immediate contract, think out in the future. and dont forget about futures options. many many many arb opportunities exist if you knock down the conventional school of thought.Ignored
Quoting merlinDislikedwow, killer trade man!
you sure do cover a lot of different pairs! how do you keep up with them all?Ignored
Quoting scpeterDislikedHi Merlin, could you speak a little more about this subject. My understanding is that the cash price and the futures price must meet at some point. However, it would seem to make sense that the closest futures contract is the contract that should meet the spot price. When you talk about the further out contracts, the added time would tell me that the prices should not meet for a long time. Wizard man, can you please straighten me out?Ignored
Quoting merlinDislikedi should say that the arb i am doing is really "risk arb." its not guaranteed that the spread will close as i plan when i initiate the trade. the methods in this arena are math intensive and you have to be really good with deltas (and all the greeks for that matter), thats the nature of arbitrage these days.Ignored
Quoting RedlegDislikedMerlin,
I had the impression that most of the good arbitrage opportunities in the world had disappeared. Good to hear otherwise!
How often do you find tradable arbitrage opportunities between cash forex and futures?

Quoting scpeterDislikedMerlin, math or no math, you are probably looking for a price that is out of whack. When you see one of these prices on a far out contract, do you also take into account seasonal influences?Ignored
Quoting pipmonsterDislikedJames I see the pair has again popped over the fibro level your talking about. If it goes back down would you still consider it a selling opportunity?
Thanks for all your ideas, charts and helpIgnored
