Bears losing grip across the board and euro flirting with a preemptive break up for tomorrow. Key H4/daily roll in play today/ Time to aggressively micromanage positions, and no more room for anything. A break back up 1.308x in play for the roll, failure will leave early longs naked for tomorrow ECB.

FTSE and more importantly today CAC40 breaching highs today (DAX trying to put a floor on the gap) but failed to break up before the break. ES also trading at the highs via earnings. A rate cut or a clear signal for next month cut will put enough fuel for a 1st attempt to reach all time highs... Gold chopping around in consolidation intraday but daily/weekly look great.

The one I am tracking a bit more closely this Quarter is Oil. Trading at highs but a very strong reversal formation (rejection on Q swing high) on the making on a failure to break 96.4x the next few weeks with a massive play to 67,xx (yes sounds crazy I know) with intermediate stop at the typical very strong 78.9x. FA is starting to align perfectly for the move (btw, 67.xx is also a Key FA Support), US will start leading in both the demand (lower) and supply side (higher) with a slow but global economic growth starting this year. Both factors added to the diminishing tensions with Iran are great ingredients for a collapse in prices. It is not the 1st time we have seen this and it won't be the last one ....

About to become a strong bear in oil but for for now I am just trying to find a way (how, where and which instruments to play the move) to profit from that move....any suggestion or comments on this more than welcome.

Hi Sisse-

Im no oil guru, but my industry is heavily influenced by its price (construction). Id say it has to move lower for any real "recovery" in the US. Look at the 1990's.... very favorable oil prices and the respective "growth". At least my perspective. For the euro, 1.35-1.38 area for the short tem IMO.... then 1.16 by EOY for 2013.

what's the problem?
FXCM has USOIL on it's platform, I presume others have too...

Yes, that is definitively the play. It has almost be a minimum requirement since the Great Depression. All the baby boomers after the war was sustained with low oil prices, the massive recession of the 70s was with oil to the moon at all time highs (in real terms). Right after oil prices crashed during the happy years only to start trending higher on the dot com ....and raise, rinse, before 2008 financial crisis until now, ...and repeat ?...

It is a textbook FA case in play as long as risk is out of the equation.

On the euro 1.36 and 1.38 I got those too. 1.16 for EOY sounds a bit on the jumping the gun side for now. IMO, Q3 and Q4 will be all dependent on old fashion interest rate differentials and that is wide open for now ....Rate cut are not even finish yet imaging...so ....even an overshoot cut .50 tomorrow (not really realistic) can put us in a shock wave to 1,184x in one go ...lol ... exaggerate example but I'm sure you get my point.

Well I wouldn't hold such a long term position in spot and not in general with a retail FX broker.

Sure I would prolly play some on spot. Not much in futures because margins and rollovers. However I was more referring how to diversify risk and optimize the position to take advantage of the move across the board.
