Technical efficiency market can also be manipulated. so.......technique is workable, but is not all of skills.

Sometimes..u just love these stairs.
Only problem is that often it comes when I am not at my station or am at work.
With the win/loss ratio being what it is, it just so happens that I keep missing the wins, and often get the lost!
Last week(in 1 day!!!!) there were 9 breakouts from various charts.
I missed the first 7. Was around for the last 2.
And just as it always happens, the first 7 were winners with almost 200 pips and the last 2, was 1 win and 1 lost, with an nett of minus pips as the loss was bigger.
So, yes I love this method, but sometimes I hate it too!!!
Could the indicator come with an email alert or maybe the EA would help. But I am very wary using EA's as they have never worked well in the past for me.

Just cashed in my first 30 real pips... Went for a short nap and when I checked back at the PC PA had hit my TP. Great feeling! Long live Forexhard and this trading community as well as the amazing SSBO method! Now its time to celebrate

(EDIT: just figured out its not 30 but 17 pips, anyway a win is a win... have no idea how this order was executed as I had no trailing stop in place)

Technical Efficiency Market - I am grasping at straws to understand what you mean. Is this a continuation of the market efficiency theory out of the Chicago School of Economics which works until human behavior becomes irrational?

Also what do you mean "technique is workable, but is not all of the skills. the word "but" negates the premise that technical efficiency is workable, so I am left with trading is not all of skills? Not all of skills means what - I think the last several years has proven that trading is about skills. Skill's that have nothing to do with the market technical's, like load, leverage and hubris. Using the proper load and leverage is a skill that many hedge fund's wished they had learned before they lost billions to an endeavor that became irrational far longer than their models predicted. (hubris)

I don't see how your post moves this thread forward!!

So, yes I love this method, but sometimes...
Try using the pushnotifications to your iphone or android, they work wonderfully.....I have 4 pair running 24 hrs on my office computer, when I get a notification, I log on via iphone take a quick look at the chart and decide if I want to place a trade or not....works great!

What you are experiencing is what I call a fatal flaw. dojirock gave you the answer you were looking for which is in the thread by the way.

I travel to much to have a computer running all the time at home so I worked on a different solution. In this thread there are lots of people who have shared their solution and I can think of a dozen other possible solutions. For me I decided that my solution was to focus on my lifestyle and build up from there. Everyday I live my lifestyle and trade successfully is a joyful day. To add credence to what I am saying, the month of December started out a bust challenging my commitment to SSBO. I was losing on every trade and I erased everything and went back to the drawing board on numerous occasions. I am committed to living my lifestyle, so I persisted in finding a solution and the last 2 weeks have been a successful joy as the pay off is happening. Even today, I was up early feeding the dog, taking out the garbage, had my charts on and took two trades for a gain of 90 pips. I can live with that.

Thanks for the Shortcut to the information. I now recall reading it but for some reason dismissed it. I have copied the code ( although some modification was required and it was not showing the correct TP Values.
Works like a charm now and shall go into test mode tomorrow!

Evening all!

Hope everyone had a good xmas and new year's eve! I'm looking to get back into the swing of things starting overnight/tomorrow so I'll be taking my usual signals from my portfolio to hopefully start off the new year how I left 2012...winning!

I have taken a complete break since the 21st and haven't looked at a single chart until just now. I was delighted to see that had I decided to trade over the festive period I would still have made plenty of pips out of some of the markets.....but not all....which was to be expected. What was interesting to see though was the ones that weren't firing still broke even so it shows that even in the worst conditions where there is no volume or much going on....pips are there to be grabbed.

Here's to a successful 2013 with SSBO! See you on the other side of the green pip road!

Also just a general question to FXH and the motley testing crew....how is the testing of the EA coming along?

Just completed my first 2013 trade...on the GU. ...and as I write this that's +25 pips in the bag!

I reiterate everything I have said in this thread beforehand.......throw everything you think you know in the bin.........then read this thread as much as you can.....follow post #1 to the letter.....then find your way to success.

1:47 am UK time.....not doing very much....and I just made money using SSBO....so simple its hard (unless you believed the world would end last year...in that case you've loads of tinned pineapple and cartons of juice to get through).

The NU and AU have been shooting up over the last few hours...I actually have just received a buy signal for the AU but I employ a strict rule of no stops over 50....my GU trade was right on the borderline at about 50.4 pips stop on my etx platform. Below is easily a non trade for me. Just personal preference and nothing more.

Not trying to read the market or do anything fancy, just sticking to my own personal rules:

Risk/Reward awful and not anywhere near my usual setup and trading style, but results sure worth for very quick scalps with play money only.

My advice would be to tune in realistic settings that your likely to use with real money. Of course its entirely up to you...but you should treat your demo account like a business and take trades on that you would take when trading for real.

AU just came through for +19 pips

And now the GU came in for +25...

+86 pips for the week already. Nice. Losses are inevitable but I'm currently riding an 86% overall win ratio for my trades since the 3/12/12. Pretty incredible.

I'm now going to drop my stake % of my bank to 0.4%. Once my account hits £1000, it'll go down to 0.3% (which will put me where I am now in terms of stake size but reducing the drawdown significantly meaning that my great start won't be wasted should I hit a bad patch.

I've been aggressive this past month....my account has grown from £150 to £771. Eventually I'll get the stake % of bank down to 0.1% and then settle on a static stake size where I will re-assess every month, taking into consideration my global win rate and bank size. Milestones for me will be hitting £2000 bank size......compounding to £5 stake size and then having the means to stake £10, all the while reducing my risk and increasing my bank.

That's the plan anyway!

Hi guys.

My first post here. Have read the thread through once and am now on my second read.

Just wondering if I have this right. Not sure how to post pics but at the moment (I'll work it out later) I am seeing a CZ in USD/JPY, 38 bars at 27.2 pips in M15. Going to trade it in my demo account. (I'm long this pair anyway for a while now in my live account.)

I'm not new to forex but new to doing it right, I have been essentially gambling on mostly XAG/USD for some years and wiping out account after account. Decided to learn a bit more and found this thread after many days of research. I like this method. Going to take my time with this in my demo before bringing it live.

Looking forward to trading with what seems to be a winning formula. Many thanks to all involved, hopefully I will get my vision back soon!

Hello to everyone and a happy new year to you all.

I have been lurking the last part of last year, reading and re-reading from start to finish.
I have always enjoyed trading break outs so this method suits me, no stress, no indicators to question
my decision to enter or not, i also work from 9 till 5.30.
I am going start this week by drawing my CZ by hand and progress from there, so wish me luck traders
i am going in.

Hi awol,

I want to share my MM logic with the group here if I may. I do have a spreadsheet that I use to calculate lot sizes automatically. It's about getting to a point where your money becomes risk free. I don't want to offend anyone, I use it with both my trading accounts, the SSBO and the price action account. SSBO takes the stress and emotions from the trading and pulling the trigger. What I want to share will take the stress out of your money management. Each trader decides a beginning goal of pips to reach and designate as a cushion of sorts. Mine is 200 pips. Before I reach 200 pips I must leave my lot size at a predetermined set percent of my account. Let me stated that this method is not about counting pips, just the 1st initial goal which has worked for me, is about collecting pips.

An example: $1000 dollar account risking 2 percent gives us $20 to risk per trade. At .10 cents per trade I would have to lose 200 pips before depleting my 2 percent risk. This 200 pips becomes our cushion, our risk of our capital. Start trading SSBO and leave your lot size at .10 until you have built up 200 pips. This would leave us with our $1000 dollar investment +200 pips of .10 profit = $20, total of 1020. Do we increase lot size? no....
Once you reach this point is where the fun begins. We no longer are risking our initial equity again. Our cushion is 200 pips at .10 per lot. Other peoples money. Do we need 200 pips of cushion, or space? that is up to the individual trader. The 200 is what i use and am comfortable with.

I will post more, on this mm with to use with SSBO and share the spread sheet if not to affend fxh or others. Not my intent. Just to share a emotionless MM strat that works and gives an MM edge to use with the SSBO edge FXHard has given us.
