Because initially, we all believe there is a Magic indicator that will allow us to make money.

Actually, indicators are a good thing because, they lag and create an imbalance in winners and losers.

hi everybody I'm a total newbie & this's my 1st post in FF, but I have been reading the James16 chart thread for weeks... (this thread IS the reason I signed up for a FF account)

Just want to post a question here, GBP/USD daily chart... (in the attachment)

the charts shows a BUOVB at a PPZ (confluence of 2 fibo levels), but the bullish candle went up a little too much to give a good Reward/Risk ratio, if I decide to enter above the break of the candle (the blue line).

So, I am wandering whether it's wise to place a limit order around 30% of the high of the bull candle (the red line)? (Trying to catch a better price & lower risk)

Pls share your thoughts thanks in advance

hi michosz, the last bar's a bullish outside vertical bar (BUOVB). I actually posted a question about the GBP/USD daily chart earlier also, but my post was somehow deleted

Anyway, I think that going by the entry rules of entering above the bull candle, the risk/reward ratio is not very attractive (around 1:1).

What do you think?

That bar it isn't BUOVB. First of all you must learn correct the bar patterns form!

BUOB ? I see inside bar.
gmcr on weekly. i will look for bearish price action here at around 40 - 42 usd.

yep gotta be careful. I play gap plays (as I posted a few recently I played). But I prefer them most for directional bias, or taking them when price gaps into a very strong s/r area. The recent eur/jpy for me was money in the bank in my opinion
