If you mean ADR 5, it is just Average True Range in MT4

OK

download the attached indicator, copy it into your MT4 platform experts/indicators file

If your platform is open, close it and then re open, look in your custom indicators for it and load onto your chart

Now you also have it, it tells you the average range of the last 'x' no of candles.

Not so many time spending at the computer during Christmas holidays. Opened two positions. One closed at ATR(5) for 65 pips. Second is opened with SL at BE and in green about 100 pips. Wanted to see back to support at 1.6020 to close my second position.

But, did you PLAN the trade? Did you know where you would TP and exit before you entered the trade?

The first position's TP was fixed on 1.6170. It was ATR(5). Second position SL set at BE after TP was hitted on first position. That was planned. The only plan for second TP is to reach 1.6020 but it is not hard fixed.

Hi traders!

I 'm going to close the second month of my path of learning.

Every day i read very very interesting things, in all the sections of the forum. It is awesome, for me, the possibility to read and discuss the progress and especially the doubts of people around the world.
So, after two months of study, i would like to integrate with the daily analysis and trading.

I hope not to sound presumptuous, but I would like to get started with real trading. Of course, with the smaller position size possible. This because in the past I have used many times the demo trading, and know very well the psychological difference between real and demo. For this I would like to compare myself directly with my Little People.

These days I'm preparing my work plan, with especially attention to the psychological aspects of every possible situation. I would like to take trading decision that take quiet the demons inside me.

I would like to share, moreover, my short-medium-long term goals:

SHORT, 6 months: knowing better the psycological side of my trading, close every months at least at BE with basic PASR, start with Trend trading.

MEDIUM, 1-4 years: I would "seeing beyond the candles", start building my professional mentality and, of course, a professional trading capital.



LONG, 7 years: i want to be a professional privat trader by age 40. Now i'm 33.

I thought of writing here, "on the wall", my trading plan.
So everyone could control my decisions, and this will help me keep the right way.

MY WORK PLAN: 27 DECEMBER 2012 (Trading start at 14 January)

TYPE OF TRADING: Basic PASR, only in the direction of the immediate trend of the higher time frame. Only PASR at SR; this include for me:Monthly, Weekly, Daily Horizontal SR, Trend Lines and EMA's, of course price must be out of the Strat Shadow or run away from it.

TIME FRAMES: Daily, Weekly (yes, i would try to trade this time frame. I would train and test my patience as trader)

MONEY MANAGEMENT: for now i will use,instead demo trading, the smaller position size allowed; also 0.01. But, i will divide the position in 2 trance, so i will open my position with 0.02 size. When and if i feel safer with the method and i can control my emotions i will use the BASE EQUITY METHOD, explained in the Psychology Thoughts Part 4.

STOP LOSS: I have the impression that my Little People accept a stop loss, under above the min max the entry bar. This because, using the Basic PASR, if the price immediately goes against me I consider "annulled" the PA that made me decide to enter this position. I mean: if the min of a BUOBBUEB is broken, i could only hope and pray that the price rises, but the initial concept is no more valid.



RISK REWARD RATIO: 11 for the first trance (ATR5), 12 for the second trance.
TARGETS: First at ATR5 or SR, second at SR.

OTHER PSYCHOLOGICAL ELEMENTS:
i decide to take a trade when the risk is acceptable for me and my MM rules.
After my entry order are placed i wouldn't check the trades during the day.

Difficulties encountered during the path: psychology behind the place of the SL, money management, seeing beyond the candles.

Of course all above is "under construction" and i will optimize the plan with your advices, observation and the experience of the next years.
I hope i explained me and all is clear why, i know, my english is terrible.
