Hi Stryker,


I did not change the count, I only provided an alternative count with good fib-relationships, too.


But with the ongoing movement down it seems the first count is/was with reason the main count.

11th December:

Price has declined as suggested in last week's report… The Wave -a- of Wave -iii- ended at 1,683.62 and has seen quite a deep Wave -b- at 70% and perhaps we should allow for a deeper Wave -b- but I feel the larger risk is now back lower in Wave -c-. It's difficult to judge theinternal levelsthis decline but the 176.4%-198.4% projection in Wave -iii- looks about right at 1,635 - 45.

This should imply an eventual test of the daily pivot support around 1,625-30.

Only back above the 85.4% retracement in Wave -b- would concern now - this being at 1,724.56 would cause me to look for an alternative bullish outlook.

Is the 5 wave move you talk about in Wave A and Wave C a 5 wave Elliott Wave move or a 5 wave HEW move?

I've only been looking at HEW for a few days, and here is my stab at the 1H EUR/USD. I'm trying to wrap my head around how to do the counts and separate the EWP from the HEW. Would this chart be correct for HEW? I think I have the alternation correct between the Wave 2 and Wave 4 corrections.

I love to see people trying HEW. There are a few adjustments in perspective that take time to click and that's normal. The biggest problem is that you have a 5-wave count in Wave (1) but Wave (1) has to be 3-waves...

In a previous video - I think the one on deep Wave B's a couple of pages back - I have shown my count with Wave (a) ending at 1.3008. The Wave -iii- was at 1.2898 (exactly 176.4%) and the Wave -iv- at 1.2857 that was around 20%. It is true that your count has a 266.7% projection in Wave 3 but a deeper Wave 4 that isn't necessarily incorrect but in this type of move I wouldn't expect the Wave 4 to be quite so deep. Therefore the 1.2880 low was Wave (b) and the 1.3126 high a Wave (c). I was looking for a higher Wave (c) closer to 90%-105.6% but was fooled by the 66.7% Wave (c) that are not that common. Thus, 1.3126 is (I think) Wave (ii) and we're moving higher in Wave (a) of Wave (iii).

You should have a general target for this daily Wave (C) higher (from 1.2661) as then you'll have an idea where the Wave (iii) will need to be to achieve the Wave (C) target. Always consider the higher wave degree target as it will help you judge the requirement for the lower wave degrees.

Take a look at my blog on which I post the prior week's outlook video (that I provide for subscribers) and the other videos that provide some background info on HEW. Last week's may be posted mid week as it still has some info that is still relevant and I think will be satisfied by Monday/Tuesday.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions -- invaluable to learning the concept of HEW. I see on the chart the areas you mentioned and it does make sense. I think the biggest problem that I am having coming from EWP is that I'm looking for 5 waves of a lesser degree in every Wave A and Wave C, whereas you are looking at 3 waves of the same degree (?). But fractically they are composed of 5 waves for A and B, so I'm still thinking look for 5 waves to make sure I have the correct Wave A. It appears I'm caught in a loop!

Do you have a recommendation as to how to "look" at the chart? For example in the attachement (Wave 1) I look for a lesser degree 5 wave for Wave a, 3 wave for Wave b, and another 5 for Wave c to make Wave 1. Am I being too EWP??

Ah, but your Wave 1 is not correct... That's an expanded flat Wave b. You need to apply ratios. Your Wave iii is only 161.8%.Only very, very, very rarely do I see a Wave 3 less that 176.4%. 161.8% is always a Wave c projection. Therefore, your Wave i - ii - iii is actually Wave a b c and where you have Wave iii should be Wave 1 - then an expanded flat Wave 2. You would have to go down to the 5 min chart to see the lower fractals in the expanded flat Wave C. However, ALWAYS measure and don't just look at the obvious swing highs/lows only. In your Wave c that impulsive count is impossible as the Wave iii is very, very short. The example of the mini-Wave b in the S&P if you saw that demonstrates.

Yes, 5-wave will only ever make a Wave A or Wave C ... nothing else. The way to "eyeball" a chart is to use alternation. Then measure to confirm your thoughts. Go through some of the weekly forecasts and note the counts and how they work. Not all came right but one of the strong points of HEW is being able to recognise when/where the structure is wrong because of ratios. There is a LOT of logic in HEW as compared to traditional EW and once you know the clues it becomes far more straight forward.
