I think the direction we'll get today is somewhat short term - this being December and all. Whichever way Aud goes, it will likely retrace the move in a few days after the fact. Still, the move we'll get today should be fairly big in size and lead to some volatility thereafter.

Seems to me the majority of this thread including you is waiting to short at 2230 EST.

I agree with that also, If you have a Technical system that you are confident in, like entering after the first retrace on a reversal, the money management is no longer an issue when you are hitting trades that never go negative pips.

Reading this - the problem with this analysis is that the reaction to rate cut or lack of rate cut very much depends on where aud is at the moment of the rate decision. If aud reaches 1.0470 just prior to rate cut, the move down will be by far more significant than 30 pips - likewise, a lack of rate cut could cause aud to move above 1.05, depending on aud's level at the moment.

You should stop trading forex as long as you don't know that when most of you enter short, your broker usually enters long in the real market.

maximmm, this is hilarious! Almost as funny as what I heard on CNBC today about the fiscal cliff crisis, "What we need is the holiday spirit to get this deal done." I can just see Santa Clause coming to the rescue with a huge bag of money.

If there is no rate cut, the price will go one direction and one direction only - up. There will be no drop before rise because too many people like me will be buying.
