been saying it for a long time, GSR above 50 days are numbered... only a matter of WHEN it happens

barely ever goes straight through, unless it's on big news momentum, such levels are usually good for 5 to 10 pips, if not 20/30 pip pull backs, take profit orders, counter trend chancers, etc...

no but i've noticed a decoupling in the usual risk/euro dynamic... on favourable news concerning the us economy, benny's qe has thrown a massive spanner in the works of what used to be fairy easy money play...

based on price behaviour, i'd say it's looking like we'll get at least a minor break... cld be wrong...

long lower wick on current m15 bar, suggests to me it's coiling, but let's see...

There are a couple of software packages that allow you to let say... draw a trend line. If the line is hit your order is placed.

That along with the nipples might work.

As we would expect, they appear at different times. I suspect, that we would find them taking place within different sessions. I also suspect that a particular nipple remains the use of that session and if extended out as a trend-line, it will be a nipple somewhere in the future for that session. We do not know when. Looking at it historically, they seem to line up.. to me. It could be an unwritten understanding as between the market makers in the various time-frames, because I would suspect that the currency market back offices are inner connect like a level II Nasdaq system... or at least the way it use to work when I was closer to the bus. I will digress an explain how it works so you can see why one might have his own nipple.

In you don't know... through a process a Market maker (MM) gets approved to be on a stock, Lets call it Ummm Apple.
That one MM has a requirement to remain listed as a MM on the stock to provided the best bid or offer X amount of time. He will never be both. So now we have MM1 and then 2,3 and so on. A co like Apple would have had as many as 20 or more MM, but only a dozen or so were very active.

Depending on the needs of the MM as a result of internal trading and or the book (client orders) and in this case lets say the order was filled to the client at $500. (the order was filled by the broker in the firm by using the best bid/offer. At that time, it is either filled from inventory or it heads to the trading room. This is company policy and they control risk to a degree this way.

So we have a client who brought 100 Apple at $500 and it goes to Trading (MM), they are now short 500 and the stock is now at 525.. so they wait They could enter an order into the system to buy 500 and set any price they wish. SO I will give 2 examples. First, it is placed firm. Order in to buy 100 Apple at $490 (trader trying to make $10 and he is at risk.. not client) The other is that the market on Apple is $480 and he wants to fill. He moves his order close to front of bids.. lets say 485 and waits... then moves it to 488 and so on... the bid being moved up (his desire to acquire it aggressively or drop the price and let it come to him if he feels it is falling, it is the call he makes as a MM.

But in most cases the MM is buying as it drops and sells as it rises.

A lot of ways to try and skin it.

Who knows.. levels might tie into it in some way.
