In my books, EZ debt 2012 season is closed since September coordinated action. Last months noise has come mainly from brokers, fortune tellers, eternal doomers and poor Forex "news/twitters/blogs" services. The real debt FA is clear and settle. On Spain, check the real FA: the bond markets. March will open next 2013 EZ debt season when Spain need to start covering again. 50% to 75% chances that by early Q2 Spain will finally request the bailout. By then too Portugal reform programme must be giving some results and Ireland first real test on the open markets. Greece, well Greece is just bankrupt since 2009 ...so nothing new.

On the Catalonia/Spain breakup just politics and old fashion nationalist very appealing in times of deep economic crisis. Especially when you are the "rich" among poor. Catalonia hasn't been an independent country since the 12th century when it was join to Aragon .... In simple word, as you can see "great timing" for pushing independence. EU in deep shit, Spain in worst depression since modern history and Catalonia Bankrupt...my reading is just nasty politics from some politicians that know how to benefit from the circumstances..... deadlock until next year...nothing to see until further developments....

On the US, a deal is done deal...we are just waiting for the details for the bastards to close the year. The real deal will come in January after Christmas (Q4) numbers come. Europe holding before recession and US in the the first consumer "boom" after recession will be enough to forget about the fiscal cliff, deficit, mumjo jumbo...

We'll see
