IMO, this scenario won't happen in the US or Australia in our lifetimes. But, due to the very high population density in some nations in Asia such as Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Indonesia and some small island States, these floating ghost towns may become a norm in that region. Some countries may be benefited from this coming "building boom" such as Australia.

I'd like to post this message again during this weekend because it may help some newbies understand the nature of trading.

My ZENguage is a language based on the concept of ZEN. It's not ZEN but just using its platform to express my thoughts.

How does ZENguage affect my Forex trading? It helped me understand some issues beyond old schools' teachings. In other words, it let me think outside of the box most time.

Now let's look at the developing of a traders' mindset.

First one is the beginning stage. A newbie trader sees the Bull the way it is even though he is not very sure. He makes some money on his live or demo accounts. [To be continued ........]

Now, the second one is the middle stage (twilight zone). After making some easy money, the newbie begins to buy trading books, DVD courses or attends seminars. Although he gets to know something he did not know before, in the meantime, he loses his virginity of clear view. He becomes a trader with all kind of thoughts clogging his mind and vision all the time.

He sees a Bull and thinks it's a Bear even though he is not very sure. He loses money again and again on his live accounts. [To be continued ........]

Your assumptions are possible for some people due to the inability of clearing those useless old school teachings.

Why are old school teachings useless? For example, a few years ago, I bought a DVD program published by an "expert" claiming he had traded Forex markets for 30 years. It cost me about $2,000. After studied those SMA crossovers in the DVD, I followed his methods and placed 2 standard lots order. What he emphasized was taking a few minutes a day to manage the positions. I went to bed with certain confidence on this "expert". When I woke up second day morning, my account was $2,000 less because the pair went to the opposite direction 100 pips.

I threw away those DVD and used my newbie method to trade. I made $6,000 in one week. The reason was I saw the bull when it was a bull and a bear when it was a bear.

But, that DVD and the loss caused by the useless old school teachings cost me $4,000 in total.

If anything, aren't indicators "new school"?

IMO, some indicators used by some "experts" in useless ways become old school teachings. For example, some people always mention that they won't short until the pair drops another 200 pips. I believe they learned this trading concept from some old school guys. To me, this concept is useless at best.

Hi Daddybear haven't posted here in a long time,

Just saw your post regarding that $2000 DVD.

I'm guessing it was some cross of 2 different moving averages or something alike.

After trading for two years, I have found that no single tool works, there is no holy grail!

But using a collection of tools, having as many strings to my bow as possible, leads to success, or a better chance at it.

Forex is difficult, the point is learning process never ends, trading conditions change and the trading strategy much change accordingly.

Well as per your example of old school teaching with your Dvd and MA's. I'm sure there are many who are successful using simple techniques too and probably even more who are unsuccessful using state of the art modern teachings.

I believe the most difficult part now days is the trade management or the exit. Off course that is also where the mind and the charts and the money at stake all intertwine and you end up in a psychedelic comatosis.

And I don't care what anyone says where and when to get out is not always executed according to your plan no matter how good it is you will make amendments to that plan as you feel you need too.

Thanks for your nice charts. One question for the USDX. Are those two yellow fireworks generated by the platform itself? Also, what platform is it?
