a system is only as good as the trader. Sure, this is a system that requires a trend to win, but with the us elections, the best move was to stay out...and no one should trade a system blindly, this market requires you to have some "fundamental" info..just my 2cents..

Since there is so much talk about how to determine overall market sentiment, I thought I'd post this fairly simple method I've begun using to help figure it out--call it a filter. One profile is Yen pairs, the other is Dollar pairs, 15M.

The HAS is tightened up to 7,2,7,3. MACD is standard 12,26,9. The short horizontal lines are a 1-2-3 indi to show higher lows/lower highs.

Obviously, you're looking for all (or most) of the charts to align. The MACD is the canary in the coal mine, with a color change indicating that a reversal may be coming. A HL/LH is the next thing to look for, followed by HAS color change and/or cross of HAS. It requires some 'reading' and can be acted upon with different levels of risk appetite, but it's definitely not complicated. The dramatic swings of the last 24 hours stretch this approach to its limits, but during more 'normal' times it's pretty handy.

Since this tracks such specific pairs, I've adapted the basket scripts to include a Weak USD group, Strong USD group, Weak Yen group and Strong Yen group.

When both charts are behaving similarly, the UJ chart shows which currency is dominant, dictating whether to trade the Dollar or Yen baskets.

yesterday they were casting the votes and that cannot move the market, but this morning the results were released that is what the market reacts to the result!! cant you see? I was in front of the charts as they release them, didnt you see that of Nov 4th 2008?

On 5 pairs the stop loss then goes down to 200 pips.
My trades on core 5 are closed between 80 and 400 pips with an average of approx 230 pips, which is not bad as a r:r.

Having said that i have placed 4 basket trades over the last 2 days with 3 winning baskets and 1 loss. (which i cut early at 80 pips)
The 3 winning baskets giving a total of +350 pips.

With proper money management your rewards far outweigh the risks.

Right! Look back just a little further then the last weeks and see what's the w/l ratio, that will do. No strategy is perfect, no trader is. Only MM and logical judgement will help you survive in the markets we have seen today, no matter which strategy used. Have seen a lot before and some small voice in the back of my head says this strategy has more merits then the fast majority of threads on this board's trading systems.

I do not question that the long-term system could win. In fact I continue in way it tries and now I am again in short trade. What I do not have very clear is that the system wins with a ratio 1/1. If we use 1/1 we meet obliged to have to succeed very much to win. The kit of the system this one in finding a zone of stop sign and of take profit adapted.

I am a very patient trader and always I use account demo in 100 operations before trying in royal account

i was just testing the EA.

On the live account I trade the 15m.
visualy, it is clear that the original HAS settings do not follow the h1 trend.
