i don't appreciate suddenly having unsolicited account details emailed to me out of nowhere, and i certainly don't appreciate an email ending with the above quote. i've given gom a lot of slack in the past when other people have whined about all types of random issues that are probably actually unrelated to gom at all, but there is no getting-around this which is just cheap and a load of horse shit.

shove your 'confirmed' unsolicited email! i'm no lawyer, but i'm sure you can not expect anyone, anywhere, to take a lack of reply as confirmation of anything. how embarrassing for gom as a broker.

gom, if you don't reply to this post within 24 hours this post will be considered as confirmation that you guys have lost the plot and are a bunch of idiots.

These statements show you all open and closed trades, pending orders, plus a summary of all deposits and withdrawals made. We notified clients of this service via email before this was initiated. Client will receive a daily statement at End of Day – 5pm New York (9am Sydney) 00:00 GMT+2 if there is activity on their trading account for that day. Clients will receive a monthly statement at end of month also. These emails do not contain any sales or promotional material, and are simply a notification service.

Dear GO Markets,

don't take my general lack of capitalization as an indication that i am illiterate. i can read, as in, i can read your reply and see that you didn't address the wording at the end of these account statement emails which was obviously written by whoever gets the coffee instead of someone with the smallest lick of legal nouse. it's one thing to be cautious and try to protect yourselves and your bottom-line with your communications, but it is something else entirely when you imply a form of binding contract.

as for your customer service angle on these emails... automatically opting customers into sending somewhat sensitive information isn't appreciated, no-matter how many supposedly wanted this! opting people into most things is a common sense no-no in general, but you guys took it to another level and i applaud you for undermining yourselves like that! perhaps the email advising everyone of this new 'feature' also had the '24hr' clause? as if it would matter either way. besides, as my previous post mentioned the email automatically made its way into the junk folder all on its own, so you guys clearly thought this through from start to finish. congrats. i believe the grammar in the email isn't even correct. come on!

furthermore, this 'customer service' angle is rubbish. it is clear you are merely trying to protect yourselves. mt4 can show whatever range of desired statements at a moments notice, so don't try to feed me this line. if there are customers requesting these emails they simply need to better understand their terminal, or perhaps these requests are just a poorly engineered fairy-tale. try harder. or should customers take this as meaning their terminal might report to them something different to what you would prefer to 'officially' log their statements as?

i used to be a defender of gom just out of general principle against the types of banal complaints that used to be made, but now i have this strange taste in my mouth. a bad taste.

smarten your act up! this won't become a conversation. it is done.

It is very common to have these daily statements from mt4 brokers and they all have the same format, including that 24 hour notice at the bottom. You always get the monthly statement, but the daily statement is only if there is any transaction activity on your account (deposit/withdrawal/pending or actual orders executed) I wouldn't worry about the legalese too much. There are ASIC regulations and other ToS agreements between the client and GoMarkets that detail dispute resolution. I would go by those, not what's at the bottom of mt4 statement.

Actually I was wondering why GoM did not issue these statements for so long. For Gmail users, you can create a filter to have these skip the inbox and go into a separate label, like 'Metatrader statements'

that's all well and good, except for the fact that i don't care what other brokers do as standard when this wasn't standard here and should not be standard. i will opt-out of other brokers emailing me statements (that contain just about everything except the damn password) when signing-up if the option is there to do so. i will not tolerate suddenly having this opted-in on my behalf without consent. i will not tolerate it regardless of any prior emails mentioning this coming. quite frankly i skim then bin most emails, if not all, from go because it's just the usual meaningless drivel. sending an email does not give permission for anything, just as not replying to an account statement email is not confirmation of anything.

if you don't get the point, the point is that you can't opt-in customers. the point is that the legalize is bullshiteez, and on top of that it is written poorly and shows a poor standard of care. nothing about this is ok. terrible idea executed terribly (by a terrible broker?). the whole thing stinks of poor form.

this is possibly the last i'll speak of it. it is over afaic.

Where is everyone moving to? Lot of aggression here, I must've been fortunate to not experience it. Though plenty of good brokers out there now
whats the status with Go these days ?

last couple of pages look negative but not sure its related to actual trading - can anyone provide current feedback? I'm trying to decide between Axi and Go

I currently am using both. Axi Pro and Standard (make sure you choose the US Server as AUS server is not as quick) are exceptional. I still use Go for a few bits and bobs but only because I have a longer term position with them which i may close the end of this month. Axi also provide a rebate through Aslan or CB Forex. A lot of traders I've spoken to at Go have since left to Axi or Pepper, though the latter is a white label of Axi so not much difference. I'd give a 6.5 to go and a 9 to Axi. Hope this helps...

I am very happy with GO Markets, I think that it is wrong for people to say that traders are moving away from Go when they have no evidence. My trading group (846 of us) all still trade with Go and we are happy. Go has the best service out of all Australian broker and also has less slippage than the two brokers mentioned by Mr Larko. I give Go a 9.5/10, I wouldn't even rate the others.

Normally I don't bother to react to first time posters anymore, bc most of them are on the payroll of the celebrated broker, in this case GO Markets.
In your case I see the need to explain to you that you are promoting a bucketshop. Only on such brokers you don't get much slippage, bc your trades get traded in-house and never reach the true market..that's the good news, for position traders only LOL
The bad news are: trade order execution is very slow and StopsLevel got set to 30 points. A NOGO for (fast) scalpers. Ask yourself why they changed their business model from a former well reputed broker with StopsLevel 0 to an average mt4 broker? Its bc they trade in-house, means when the trader wins on fast scalping they lose...
For good reason a lot of former clients got angry about their change to the worse. This change happened right after they lost a lot of money by MDP traders. A serious broker would try to improve the conditions for the scalping clients, bc they earn their money by commissions, not by stop hunting. Bucketshops try to get rid of successful scalping clients. This is what GO did.

Hey Guys,
I have still a small account with GO thought I would check out how it is these days and wow the order speed is really really slow and the same every time so its obviously set like that, is it the same for others ?
I dont really care coz i moved on ages ago but gee that would be annoying.
I was thinking of opening an account with Vantage FX and noticed that the website is the same layout as GoMarkets and low and behold they have the same contact address. I have not read all this thread but I guess I am not the first to notice. Even though Vantage FX seems to have good feedback after reading some of the comments on here I am somewhat reluctant to open an account with Vantage now if they are connected.

Can anyone enlighten me?
