I would like to start a FastBrokers thread to discuss this broker and their trading platform Pathfinder Trader.

Now that I have been trading with them for several months I can easily say that their Platform is the best I've ever used, execution is amazing, and customer service is top notch. Note: I have been a member of ForexFactory for 3 years and have used a variety of brokers during that time. I have no affiliation with Fastbrokers, or any other broker. Here is my honest review.

For anyone else who has grown tired of Metatrader brokers, including MT4's lack of updates, slow execution, bulky order window, horrible order management, 90's design etc, I recommend you give Pathfinder a try. You can demo the software and get all of the information you need from the website. I have extensively tested Metatrader 4/5, NinjaTrader, Multicharts, FxPro cTrader, Morgan Stanley Matrix, FXCM Trading Station II, Citi FX Pro, and more, and this platform came out on top for many reasons:

- Can be connected to multiple liquidity feeds. (Currenex, Integral, LMAX) I am using the LMAX feed. The account is held at LMAX - I'm not sure who holds the accounts in their other feeds.

- Ability to trade entirely from the charts with one click trading. No separate order window with a tick chart on it like MetaTrader. Stop loss/take profits are done by dragging the lines on the chart.

- Shows postion, profit/loss, pips etc. right on the toolbar of the charts.

- When you detach charts from the main window, they snap together making it great for multi-monitor setups.

- A very well-designed Scalperbook, (I don't have a lot of experience with it - can someone else give their opinion on it?)

- Economic Calendar built into the platform. (Currently down for updates)

- Updated on a regular basis, adding new features and fixing bugs.

- Execution is the fastest I have experienced.

I have found FastBrokers to be very receptive to customer criticism. I have chatted with them on several occasions about bugs I have found or requesting new features, and they have always came through. After becoming a client, they add you to Skype which is a great way to connect with Customer Service/Technical Support.

They are working on Version 3 of the software which will add improved charting performance (this is needed) and a mobile platform. The solution now is to use LMAX Mobile if using that feed.

I have attached 2 screenshots showing a dual monitor setup and how it maximizes screen space by getting rid of order windows and the terminal, and a closeup showing trading/order managment right from the chart.

Hopefully there are some other FastBrokers fans around that will join in on the discussion!

Making this more of a software/platform discussion then. Which is fine, that's basically the gist of what they offer (other than being an IB).

Sounds like a great platform. It's good to have a worthy MT4 alternative what with MetaQuotes so heavily dominating the FX platform space.

Odd that they don't list which US brokers they work with for US retail clients (who unfortunately can't use LMAX). I presume they must work with at least one of the US retail shops. I'm guessing ILQ perhaps.
It will depend on the individual trader's preferences.
I do not like the PF; when I tested it (few months ago) it lacked basic functionality, i.e. simple things like: one cannot choose median prices for indicators. And it's quite slow (in comparison to some other platforms).
However it's ok for the average trader perhaps.
They introduced Currenex accounts to FXDD in the past, if i remember correctly.

Yes, they are bascially an IB that provide their own Platform. I didntt intend for the discussion to be solely platform/software related, however this is one of the biggest benefits of opening with them.

I'm sure if you asked them in the Live Chat they would tell you in more detail who they work with. Please post if you find out.

Pathfinder has received many updates in the last few months, so give it a try and maybe some of your dislikes have been changed or fixed. The platform does take a lot of system resources yes I agree with that, I believe this is one thing they are working on for Version 3 - faster charting.

Also, if you retest Pathfinder, post any gripes/bugs here and I will send in a report to have them fixed.

The funny thing is that you can have multiple forex and futures accounts running together, and you can also build forex arbitrage strategies through different brokers.

Don't quote me but I believe they have been around for 4-5 years. I think they mainly catered to large/institutional clients but with the addition of the LMAX feed they started adding more retail clients.

Welcome, It's good to have another experienced FastBrokers client in this thread. I don't know anything about scripting so I can't help you there. I hope you will continue to contribute here.

I've been using Pathfinder trader for some time and I'm very pleased with it. The programming code for strategies/indicators is done in VB/C#, they've help me coding some custom strategies I designed. I trade using the Scalperbook (aka vertical ladder) which is great for managing multiple entries and exits thru scaleouts. I agree their charting needs still some improvement, but they're working at it, and it does look promising. Recently they've added volume charts, tick bars and range bars.
Granted that I still have trouble trading profitably, when I trade using this platform I feel more comforted that at least there isn't any kind of exotic dealing or bridge that handles my trades.

Do you (or anyone) know if the Scalperbook shows all orders on LMAX? Or is it just orders placed on Pathfinder or where?

Does anyone know how to setup Renko chart on Pathfinder? It's not working right based on what I see. I like everthing else I see so far. Charting take a while to get use to. Thx,

I've just tested and renko is working fine for me. When you set the box you have to set it to 0.0001.

Version 3 of Pathfinder will be releasing soon but they are keeping the details pretty quiet. All I know is that it's going to be big, and they are really excited about it.

Renko size should be user defined. Even at 0.0001, box form then dispear that is not right. Same box size compare to what is on MT4 renko chart, you have a total different chart.

I have some question about the software:

Could i custom program an algorithm (or script in MT4) to execute an order?
If yes, could i attach it to some hotkey button?

because i find these amazing features is missing in some platform beside MT4.

Unfortunately this is beyond my level of expertise, as I am more of a "click buy/sell" type of guy, and know nothing about programming.

I suggest just fire the guys off an email or go on live chat and they will let you know if it's possible. If it isn't and you are a client, you could always ask them to add the feature. They are very receptive to criticism and seem to implement their client's ideas regularly.

Pathfinder will show all orders including the ones placed via LMAX. As I understand it Pathfinder is an interface directly connected via API to multiple forex and futures providers, so in essence is like accessing the same back-end of the vairous providers through a much more user friendly interface. So you can open a position with Pathfinder and close it with LMAX web and viceversa and positions will show on both platforms immediately.

I use Renko sometimes and I found it to be more accurate if you use the Price Range period rather than the minute period. Pathfinder updates the Renko based on the close of the underlying period bar. This means that if you use for example a 1 minute TF then if during that minute the price moves over your Renko box, a new box will start showing, but it will become permanent only if that price will be also the bar closing price otherwise the box will disappear. I discovered that if I use instead the Price Range period with the range to match the same Renko box size, then it will draw a new box at very new price breaching the Renko box (since Price Range bars are not time based).
