My chart is almost identical to SWG123's Cable pic.

1 position closed at TP1, with 3 positions still open and looking for higher TP levels. Either PA will continue up to the next TP level, or it will retrace to SL1 @.60526 and take out the 3 positions with 2p profit each.

Yes, it certainly is a touchy little varmint. Reading. Just struck me as odd that two machines with, apparently the same settings, gave a quite different result.

But they weren't the same settings, according to your post, where you said the MinBar on one was set to 1 and to 0 on the other.

The first pic in your post #3857 is exactly like mine, right down to the 93 bars before the Buy was triggered. The only difference in our settings is that my max trade sets are 3, not 4.

This one setting difference will obviously create a huge difference due to trade sets starting and stopping completely different.

Yes, the first pic is the way it was for quite some time. Looking at max zoom out, the number of Martingale sets does not appear to affect the box positions. It does affect the total pips for the period but not the boxes. I cannot do a 100 day look back comparison of box positions.

Your BO figure was 1 bar. I cannot now replicate that unless I set mine to 0 which is very strange and why I directed my question to xux99 who has replied with a clarifying answer. I can't imagine he minds if I paste it in as it is of benefit to everyone reading here. So here is the real reason :

Hi Altos The reason for this difference is that a trade set should be completed before a new CZ is formed. The number and place of CZs highly depend on the open and close price levels of previous trades. In case you use the same settings, a differnce between two brokers can be caused by different data feed or by different history length. Thankyou xux99 : To Mr_M and FXH. This means our history and broker data do not match and why I can get the same box but need a different setting to get it and of course our pips total will differ according our history. This to me, is why only the forward testing will show us what really happens and it will likely vary a little for everyone. Even those with the same settings and broker will be different unless they start at the same time with the same history.

Phew ! Thank goodness that is cleared up. Sorry guys, did not want to start a federal issue but it is nice to get to a full conclusion.

With all due respect to everyone concerned, nothing new has been presented today that isn't already described in detail over the last 40 pages, give or take. I also could have condensed it all into a single post, but I obviously chose not to. Spoon feeding is left to the other systems; in here we do our own heavy lifting.

Let the issue drop. There's no need to respond to this post. I only expect from everyone here what I also do for myself, no more, no less.

Hi Jay - Yes, thanks for the example ref. It is clear for the pip count. I had not expected it to affect box position on the CZ's after a trade had closed. Now, I am not sure exactly what happened yesterday. It could be that I inadvertantly changed the BO figure in my playing around and then forgot to swap it back although I would have thought I would have noticed the "misplaced" box. In my memory the box "moved" while I was not looking. Geez, must be dementure creeping in.

I trade every friday. I dont know what the fear of trading on fridays is. I hear it often. If you have a plan. Trade your plan. I have had many successful fridays.

Question to FXH and All

In my attached chart I have hand drawn a CZ which the indi "would have" drawn had it not been for the current indi CZ which I entered a trade from.

My question is, how have you handled these situations? Stay with the original CZ?..Enter a breakout trade off both?

Curious to hear anyone's thoughts and/or methods.

This is not exactly correct. Potential new CZ's are not passed over because there is a CZ already visible on your chart, they are passed over only when a trade (or basket of trades) has gone live.

In your pic a Sell trade was opened about 80 bars back. And you won't see another CZ until that trade set closes according to your default settings.

That's exactly how I've handled them thus far. Was just interested if any others had developed any different methodologies for these situations.
