Sometimes...the BOJ was been expected to take some easing action..this action is supposed to weaken the yen.....i've noticed with some of the BOJ news, there are spikes in the opposite direction before the actual move begins...its usually safer to wait for a confirmation...

OK. I pay 3.0 on GbpJpy (with oanda) but pays 7.0 with instaforex.

Most pple pays 7.0 and thats why I used 7 for illustration.

And thats something.....more than the average spread of the overall basket.
I don't bother with spread cost except when scalping selectively.

And with this system (though haven't started using it), the profits are far greater than the costs.

No...This is wrong opinion. I personaly tried to trade basket using GJ as a leading pair... failed. The same with EU, EJ, GU and others. There is no leading pair in basket. "Big money" move from pair to pair all the time. You can see that GJ leads basket now, but in one hour (even miniute) situation changes and, for example, GU takes the lead. Then EU, then EJ...

You don't need to trade the same size for having the same profit/loss than the basket, that's why your spread cost is much less. But it's enough, this is a basket thread..........

transaction costs depend on your pos size. In the basket you trade 14 pairs with a smaller size then when trading only one pair. Gbpjpy might be leading, but the smoothing by using more pairs makes it less volatile, which makes sense (to me anyway).

And the same goes, if you will try to use basket move to trade one pair, you again will fail. In fact, kos introduced good system for baskettrading. Good, but not excellent. Because there is no excellent system for it. Kos finaly showed exact points of entrances and exists and all you have to do is to develop proper mm. No need to look for indicators and other stuff. Just be patient when hard periods will begin and wait for trend to get back your losses and gain profits.

What surprises me is that the GBP/JPY HAS is as smooth as the BASKET HAS.......and yes, transaction cost depends on pos size, that's why it's much more expensive the basket.

Just an example: the last big Buy move gave 700 pips for the basket, the same move gave 167 pips for GBP/JPY, so you only need 4.2 more position in GBP/JPY (and not 14) for having the same pips.........

yes ,thats why originally we watched the ia or better still the excell spread sheet,which showed which pair had took the lead role and anchored,

the Has and offline charts are doing a great job for entries,but personally i feel theres 1 piece missing,which is the basket going into a harmonic state,this reduces lots of loosing entries when theres no synce,ie range conditions and conflicting pairs due to fundies,ect,ect

after all the moves were trying to capture are a result of total agreement ,risk on or off.

today is a good example of this state,its in confliction with its self,due to the yen,so until that state changes one should be out the market,theres many ways to see this.

these conditions are what kill basket trading for most,because the entries are indi induced and theres no filter for the market state

not being negative here,basket trading can be extremly rewarding.

This matter have been dicussed already long time ago. And was checked in practical way. If basket will give you 700 points, there is no guarantee that GJ will give you 167 pips in that move. It could be 700 basket and -200 GJ easily. The main idea of the basket is some kind of insuarence for the total profit. There always will be losers and winners in basket/ And there is no gaurante that GJ will not appeare among losers. Just like any other pair.

But in my opinion you should be negative because again the discussion of the system turns into showing results of good trades and finding "improvements". It means the thread will come to dead end pretty soon. Your idea is great. To capture total agreement... It's a petty but we, "small" traders will never find out how to see this point of total agreement, because we don't set it up.

To the wait of automatic EA. Current Trade in manual. The systems tendenciales succeed 30-35 % for what it is indispensable to trade with stop sign to cut rapidly the losses and to stop to traverse the benefits without placing take profit.
1. The first positive trade shell from Friday with +574 points closed.
2. The second current trade in negative with-215 pips.

My buy all basket from last night is closed. Took a small hit but waiting patiently for re-entry. The chart right now is a flat, rangy mess, so staying with it at this point is nothing more than guess work. Lets not forget that this is a trending basket system. The ability to recognize entries and exits will help protect your account as well as increase your profit level by letting a trade run while it is in a strong trend. I also really don't understand the posts trying to change the method before trading history and knowledge of the original system has been tested and established. Give it some time guys. Waiting patiently on the sidelines for a clear entry.

You can't use a pair to trade the basket, the averaging out of the charts caused by the multiple pairs give us different info for the indi's to calculate from - thus a single chart will always fail to yeld the same results.

My opinions are based on 6 years of basket trading, they may not always be correct, but I feel you miss understand the term leading pair - a leading pair is the first pair to make a move big enough to change the shape of a single bar in the basket chart, and thus have an initial impact on the indicator's, predominately this is GJ.

Other pairs will have there moments, but this is normally linked to fundimental events such as interest statements etc. at least by having a go with single pairs you have been able to see that a single chart fails and are better placed to understand the benifits of basket charts

when you fix it, make a 1min chart and put it to test make sure it executes before sending it out otherwise we would have many version of it uncontrollably flying on every post of this thread.

I did backtesting and EA opened the trades as it should. Did you turn on AutoTrading to true?

Can you all stop talking about trading with individual pair. There are lakhs of thread in ff to talk about that.
if you want to do that then start your own thread or move to other thread.
if you can't contribute productively then please stay calm.
