there are 6 yen related pairs, only 4 for EUR and GBP and four usd.....semms a bit imbalance....

i touched on this a few posts back,somtimes its good to just trade the yen pairs when the fundementals suggest,but its hard to notice unless you are aware of the bahavour,to remove the yen is crazy,our you going to remove eveything that dosnt conform to HAS,its a basket,

for those still trading the short basket from last friday will notice the profit is still 25 % up from yesterday evening.

i urge all to read the original thread .

Simple Trading Method with trader101 -

trading only the yen pairs become a big part of this method,if you had traded only the yen pairs during asian session you would have yielded 200 pips +,whilst waiting for directional bias from the whole basket

Gladly:-

you have your charts setup, this allows you to mark all the points on the chart that an entry would have been made, the EA opens the trade at the start of a candle (aka the confirmation candle).

so now we create a spread sheet (back testing manually as mt4 won't support the multiple pair backtesting) input the date, time and open price of the confirmation candle.

we then move forward in time and look at the potential highs and low and add this data to our spreadsheet - then finally we add the value of the next confirmation candle for the next trade

this gives us our open/close/high/low of the trade - by then adding or deducting the various values from the open price we get a pip value for each of the moves.

over a period of time you will notice that a basket has a peak point before it turns and thus you can set tp's or trailing stops based on the data

other option is to run the EA on a entry to entry bases and export a file to give you the peaks and lows - but this you have to sit around and watch the EA lose money and win money a massive amount until you have enough data to adjust the setting

these are the times when we should be waiting patiently on the side lines,because although the indis are giving bias,the basket DOES NOT AT THIS MOMENT HAVE HARMONEY,it could infact go either way,or just conflict as it opposes each other,wait for overall balance of bias,that way you will filter out many losing trades during these periods,which can kill the previous profits

one is GBPJPY 4HRS chart
the other is OFFLINE 4HRS chart

notice the similarity in what they draw, in fact GBPJPY is the leader of the pack most of the time.

so removing them is trading something else

I am still short in the basket accumulating now-300 pips. Trading in graph of 15 minutes.

If the GBP/JPY is so similar to the Basket pairs, will not this produce similar entries according to HAS?

I'm going to compare both ways. If entries are similars it will be better to just trade GBP/JPY, you pay 14 times less spread.......

it's something to look at down the road, but first this system needs to get up and running, and then we need to see what runs on what charts, whilst the charts look similar, i have a different method of creating and setting mine up.

i'm unsure at this point how your value is created - mine are created by alining the 1pip value of each of the pairs so each candle shows a true pip value move of the basket.

good luck - trading Gj is extreme as it's the fastest moving pair in forex

the basket allows us to smooth out the volitility, Gj takes off and leads the way then the other pairs follow. so in essence we would normally get in late on a GJ trade and miss many pips, but the basket allows us to use the advance notice of GJ or which ever pair is leading at the time and then follow the market down the same road, GJ makes sharp turn and warns us of change - we exit before the others follow it.

and so on....

I didn't mean to take them all out, but say limit to 4 pairs??? I dunno, maybe it will have the same effect will less DD

it will produce similar entries but you have to use different HAS settings. as for the end results I can't say if it will be the same, and that does not insulate you from any of the Forex shocks.

And you may need to study the individual behavior of GJ very well.

Last 9 signals according to HAS were exactly the same just 2 hours before somtimes in case we trade the basket. This was sometimes better and sometimes worst (some entries at better price because of some retrace). But what surprises me is that the HAS is not smoother for the basket in my charts, and you start with 40 pips less because of spread .......food for thought.

I don't say it is better to trade GBP/JPY, I just want to be sure it worths to trade the basket.

If you are considering spread cost, then, its better you just trade the basket and pay 40pips in spread than pay 7pips * 14 (98pips) on GBPJPY alone
