Thanks Mike. I haven't been back to the charts yet. Had to get the pool closed down today. I did mark up the trend line after posting and was just thinking today "what was the story" to get past that trend. We'll see..

What I am thinking is, can we project these areas by using an upside down fibo. Like this at a substantial SP?


I am not going off track with this, just interested in seeing if it can be done or, if there is no fact in it.

Just looking at this daily SP.
I shall keep my eye on it next week.
As I am using only the extensions of the fibo, this is not a correctly drawn fibo.
Looks like we have more winners than failed TTs.

Hey everyone,

Can I ask, has anyone had any experience using software called forextester with the J16 methods? Not in terms of automated testing, but in terms of price action 'trading' and to what extent the charts hold true to your MT4 charts.

I ask because we're trying to find methods and software to develop modules for, that visually impaired traders can use to test PA methods at their own pace without real money. Although after some initial investigation it seems like a decent option, we were hoping some of you guys had some experience we could base decisions on.

The data imported into the tool is from a broker, and although not tick data, is M1 (then calculated into all other TFs) which I thought wouldn't make much of a difference seeing as us noobs (should really) stick to daily/weekly charts

Of course, opening up demo accounts in MT is a viable option, however there would be huge learning benefits in being able to control time virtually for this purpose - not only in terms of trading skills, but also in terms of visually impaired charting skills whilst simultaneously being able to action trades 'in the past' without 'seeing the future'.

Oh my goodness, not sure if this makes sense - the more I try to explain, the more I feel like Dr. Emmett Brown!

Hi, Greg

I just made a sound file with all the terminology of J16 and Jarroos terminology on it for you. Hoped it would save you the fate of having to listen to a Stephen Hawkins type computer generated voice.

Edit: There again, you will have to listen to my horrible voice. LOL


I managed to zip it up and the site accepted the file.

The guest videos are all up and working so my recommendation is to try a different browser as sometimes these computer machines we use can be silly like that. And dont forget to ask questions as you go

Hi Greg, I'm using Forex Tester. It emulates Meta Trader but has a few tiny downsides (e.g. not so many shortcuts and functions). But for strategy testing it's invaluable as you can switch between timeframes easily while testing and you can set the speed that it takes for a bar to be created. I haven't compared my MT feed with the FT feed yet but price action trading works out very well with it. I don't know how easy it would be to create modules for FT but the guys at forextester.com can surely help you out.

Very valuable, thanks. Does the price action work out well on smaller timeframes than daily as well? I probably won't be subscribing to their tick data if we go with them. M1's are fine to build H1's and upwards with I think and that's included in the price.

Your point is exactly the reason we're considering it, or a similar application. We need something where the actual trade time can be accelerated or slowed down. The problem is that whilst using voice-over, MT blurts out the price of whichever candle you might might mouse-over accidentally. No point in watching if you already (accidentally) know whodunnit.

With an app like this, the 'past' is effectively still 'future' and that 'future' is still unknown - mouse-over or not.

Hi Greg, I'm using FT without tick data mostly for demo on 1h up to daily timeframes. And this works fine. If you think M1's are not sufficient you can always upgrade to the tick data. BTW, there's also a forum on forextester.com (Link).

Thanks Hans - I'll stick to M1 data for now too. You've been a great help - I'll see what I can get out of the blog. Particularly interested to read up on the indicators, what is tweakable and what isn't.

Do you know what the rules are regarding posts like yours and mine referring to external tools or links? I was a little concerned I'd get modded - my intention wasn't to plug though.

Hi All,

Any good links to drawing flip zones on charts? I am OK with swing point S&R lines, but a little confused with identifying areas where support becomes resistance/flip zones. I can see them, but which are the priority ones that I should mark? Is it the number of times that price rebounds? If I put them all on, I will have too many lines/zones which I am not comfortable with.

As usual, all help really appreciated.

I would add . . Daily Close Confirmation (DCC)

Daily Close Confirmation of Support or Daily Close Confirmation of Resistance is a indication by the Daily Close to confirm that Support level has flipped to Resistance and vise versa ..
