Everyone has thier own point of confirmation .

For me a break-out is a break-out , and that is enough confirmation for my entry .( especially if I am sleeping as it breaks ).

A tool I just wrote for me, but can be useful to others. It basically tries multiple combination of SSBO settings, and logs the results into a CSV file.
It does not take into account the multiple trades per box (and martingales), but rather focus on the first trade result (MaxTradePerSet forced to 1).

It allows to basically scan ranges of takeprofits, stoplosses, number of barcloses, buffer sizes.

It can also scan results for ranges of box lenghts and box sizes, but due to a bug in SSBO indicator (zero divide sometimes happens with specific boxlen/boxranges settings), I don't recommand to scan very large lenghts and sizes.

Best usage :
Is to input a fixed boxrange and boxlen (min=max), and scan the various other settings : stop loss and take profit ranges, number of closed bars above buffer, etc.

Attach the EA to the pair/timeframe you want to scan.
You do not need to attach the SSBO indicator, but you need it in your indicator folder.

When done, the EA will display a dialog box, and you have to remove EA from chart manually.
The result CSV file is in experts/files and can be opened in Excel directly for filtering/sorting data.
Make sure the CSV file is not still opened in Excel when you run another scan.

Edit : important ! The DaysBack lookback setting is hardcoded to 1000 days.

Apart from the obvious ones, two nice trades for my BD.

Whoa, once choppy ride on EU 5min but managed 2/3 winning trade which were taken, moved SL to BE (1st BO was ignored was sleeping but all subsequent BO were taken) +20pips
AU nice BO what I like to see a retest and then a nice strong BO, currently moving SL to below swing lows +35pips

Another perfect revenge arc. Price is right back to where it started from, and right back into the same zone it's been flirting with for the last 2 weeks. You can literally follow the green price line right back through the center of most of the CZ boxes. Very cool.

Price stalls and dead ranges like this don't bother us. In fact, we welcome it. For us it means that a chance to snipe is just around the corner...

Finally… after a month of hard work, taking notes, testing out manual CZ’s, countless hours of testing the indie to understand how it works inside out, I’ve finally finished reading the whole thread. Time to re-read it through to make sure I haven’t missed anything.

I said I would read the whole thread through and come up with my questions at the end. Actually, I’ve answered pretty much all my own questions with hard work and patience. Instead, since mathematical and probabilities are my strong points, here’s a decent idea I came up with to answer a basic questions that has been asked countless times in the last year.

When it comes to setting up the DaysBack setting, what is the best approach? Heres my take.

Scenario 1 :Settings at 0 to gather the most information available per your broker;

Pro :
Gives a better statistical edge as it includes a bigger sample to test the information upon. I feel this is very important to rely on the intense 4-6 trade zones. How can you effectively rely on 1-2 trade that tested the area; a single re-test could eat a big portion of your account if you’ve been using martingales to the letter?

Con :
Since the results are more diluted, the short term trends (not trading trends but the overall market sentiment) are not as evident, which in some situations might have a negative impact on the net pips.

Scenario 2 : Settings at 100 DaysBack

Pro :
Gives result that are more accurate for what is actually going on based on the current market sentiment. Recent ups and downs give a good idea of what should happen in the near future. It should be able to adapt to drastic changes in the market fairly easily.

Scenario 3 : My solution
What I do is find the best results based on the Settings at 0. Once I’m satisfied with these results, I simply change the settings to 100 DaysBack. This gives me a good idea to judge if the market sentiment is still comparable during the last 100 DaysBack as it was for as long as my broker allows me (which is about 7-8 months with my broker). I've attached an example at the bottom.

From this example, I realize that my settings on the long term and short term are in-line and that there seems to have had no major shifts in the overall market sentiments. I also can conclude that most of the net pips have been made in the last 100 days.

I have that happen too..its from being off line then coming back...I just switch time frames to the 5 then back to the 15 and it autocorrects...

Just a quick note to say that Xux has just sent me an update on the EA, and it's looking great (as usual).

At the rate things are going I think I can safely predict the final release will happen by the end of October.
