I think the bulls are checking how strong the bears are, 2900 is significant .

At the moment it is showing a daily doji bar. Not the the best day for scalping.

Seems the NA traders are more keen in buying the euro than their counter European part.

Maybe the latest despatch from Bogota' it is of a better quality.

here is Tchir's take;

The Bull Case
I had turned bearish on the situation in Europe last week, which had worked well until yesterday. I remain bearish, but there is an obvious and possibly realistic path for the bulls.
1) Spain, followed by Italy ask for and receive OMT and ESM support. The terms of which are generous.
2) Spanish bank recap goes ahead.
3) Budgets work, economies show signs of rebounding and markets reach new highs.
That is the bull case in a nutshell, and I had believed in it for awhile, but don’t see anything working out quite smoothly.


BUT...........


like to see a big number for bank recaps to show the policy makers are serious.......


if number is minimal, "expect weakness as everyone will know they will be back at the table in a few months asking or more."

let's see if we can break the lows. Having broken back through the 1.2900, price has also broken through the upper line of the bearish wedge. I think 1.2750-1.2700 is ideal target for early next week
