so I have been analyzing this shit today and came out with one conclusion.

its all crap and the moves are 50% up or down. more like 50+-5% either way, depending on the trend.

I studied 1 hour bars and came up with this chart that proves that the markets are crap.

Just because you, as it can be inferred, have not been successful in trading does not mean that "the markets are crap." There are plenty of traders here who have been able to consistently take money out of the market.

I'm not sure why you'd be looking to short silver (or gold for that matter). With a fresh bought of QE, it seems like a suicide mission.

I was literally just plotting the way 1 hour bars move, to show out that the bar's close could be compared to flipping a coin. However, this does not include any of the underlying reasons for a move. The key is to find out the patterns or relationships over as many trials as you can.

This all came to mind when I was doing a Monte Carlo approach on something else, so just thought I would test something new.

alright, you where looking for something and you think you found it.
you can compare trading with a monkey trying to catch a rabbit and you can even make a graphic saying look how price behaves like a monkey catches a rabit, setting the parameters just right to prove you are right.
But it doesn't mean you are.

I am a programmer and i have made simulations over a period of time.
I let the simulator set the parameters different in thousands of different simulations and i picked the one that was most profitable.
Then i used these parameters on another period and the simulator was no longer profitable.

You can compare price with coin flips, just like you can compare price with a monkey catching a rabit. I can do this here:
- a coin flip is binary 0 and 1. price is analogue, all possible values bigger and equal to 0.
- a coin flip is pure luck. price is governed by many people making a trade based upon reason.
I keep it at that, i think i made my point.

I dont know why you guys took it directly or seriously. Obviously markets are not shit or crap. I dont go around the city stepping into shit everyday, do I?

I was not looking for something and I did not find anything. Its a useless graph that does not really say anything. It serves as something to think about , to generate new ideas or wipe your ass with.

I can teach little kids that 2+2 = 5, and it wont be. So why even discuss it? I didnt set the parameters, even in that little instance, in fact I retrieved them.

the fact that on a smaller timeframe, purely looking at it, I thought it was interesting that even in a trending situation, the bars are closing close to 50%. I am specifically interesting in the 50%.

also, where did I compare trading to something? Just let me know, as next time I will be a better person and will not make the same mistake, so that people do not misunderstand me.

Nothing wrong with technical analyzing and finding relations, I did so the better part of my life, my conclusion is no trading system can beat common sense and common sense can't be programmed, trying to catch bastards thinking works best for me.....
