but you can use what every type you like, essencially your only using the MA's to look for trends - so if all 3 are in order then you have a general direction to make a play in.

5 ma can be used in many ways, higher tf 5ma can be used as a target for entries based on lower tf charts when going against the trend - i.e. daily is was above it's 5ma, 1h shows short signal, we can tp at good round number just above daily 5ma

another option is to use the 5ma as an entry point from a lower tf getting back into the trend of a higher tf

mainly 5ma's are used because they tend to sit on the correct side of the candles in a good trend, but most candle will touch them by either retracements to them or stalling the market and allowing the MA to catch up

but generally i'd say to anyone reading up on system - find one that you like and stick with it - master it. Most system will work for the right person and fail for the wrong person - it's your emotions that let you make or break a trade.

Note - i've stopeed studying forex and taken up the study of art - - - cheers peeps for the new avenue of education.
