NYO candle was very strong bearish and hitting WPv expect at least 50% bounce...learn to stay away from price bounce to trigger close stops and profit taking.

one way is to trail behind the previous APB .

Synergy APB Bars are Heiken Ashi bars. APB is a commercial name used by whoever coded that particular version of Heiken Ashi for Dean Malones Synergy Method.

In fact it would probably help if people stopped calling them APB bars and called them by their proper name HA (Heiken Ashi) Bars this would avoid a lot of confusion.

FYI - Although APB is the term used for the Dean Malone approach, there is a difference in the algorithm that makes the APBs slightly more responsive than the traditional HA.

Hello

As you can see in the chart, I went short when the blue candle closed @1.2614.
TDI: RSI < TSL (crossing from up going downwards)

I exited @DS1: 1.2560 with a total profit of 54pips

However, I got lucky. I decided to keep the trade open while crossing the DPV by watching the RSI below 50 and downtrending. Also, I decided to close the trade @1.2560 coz that was (almost) yesterday's low and DS1 of course.

What I've done wrong? Which is the logic I should have followed? Any suggestions? Any indicators that could keep me away from bad choices?

Nice thread you have there, well organised, I wish everyone updated their first pages like you have, it would save a lot of repetition and make it easier for newcomers to find the answers rather than having to plough thru whole threads which really shouldn´t be necessary.

Hello....

I know that in the beginning X-man said he only uses EUR/USD for H1 method. But if you don't mind plz help me to analyze why I should not take this GBP/USD long setup.

The entry point is at the open of red pullback bar in the white box. My considerations are:
1. it was second bar of LO
2. previous bar: strong bull HA bar, break Asian session range
3. previous bar: TDI green cross red
4. previous bar: Price above EMA5
5. previous bar: TDI green > 50
6. previous bar: TDI below blue line
7. previous bar: TDI still < 68

Well as can be seen, the trend was reversed and later we could find short setup. My suspect is that I should pay more attention to TDI blue line, which in this case is narrow.

Any comment/advice will be appreciated. Thnx...

TDI Blue lines are Bollinger Bands, and when they squeeze together it is wise to wait because it allways signals a strong move is coming, you just do not know which way.

Also. Take your Horizontal line tool and draw a line across the tip of your bull candle, then click on the 4 hr button and what do you see? click on the daily button and what do you see? look where the horizontal goes, what does it intersect? Watch out for support and resistance and confluence.
Could this be forming a Double Top?

Look closely at your candle, the small nip on the right is where price closed, so price broke asian range but it did not close above the pivot, this should have been a warning to wait and see.

as USD strengthen, EU retraces back into week 34 range.
target 4Sep S3 1.2510 still good.

Hi Emmanuel,

in this EU case, the last bearish HA bar is moving so fast without any strong bearish APB before as a signal bar. The cross of green/red TDI is still forming too. Do i have to wait for the close of this candle, or i can just jump right away in the middle of the bar (well.... afraid that i will be too late to catch the downtrend if i have to wait the next bar)

Also right now I use the EMA5 Hi/Lo to filter range price movement. Without that channel, how can i avoid the range market without getting too late to take a setup?

that long red candle fell 25pips in 5minutes.
how to catch such a move and widen spread?
where do you place your initial SL when you want to catch such strong candle?

you need to reconcile with higher TF H4 and look for PA.
do you see price consolidation?
do you see inside bar/s on H4 and H1?
do you have a method to trade entry using breakout?

on H1 PAC:
I use this 5EMA PAC previously for my H1 trade entries i.e. to enter when the price bar close outside the upper/lower PAC. But this is conservative and I do not usually get a good entry price ad SL is bigger.
With PA, I can enter even when the price bar is still inside the PAC. But this serve to remind me that there is higher risk. The EMA4 shift 2 is important on H1.

How to determine range market? this is a very subjective and will have lots of different views. My way is look at H4 and D1 price bars. When price bars do not make HH HL or LH LL , I will prepare for sideway movemets on H1. and this is good opportunity for trading breakouts.


Spend more time and read through this entire thread, there are a lot of lessons and examples. Save those posts and create your own system document and have a special section on Entry and Exits.
Have a Money Management strategy and plan for trading this method.
Also a Trade Management strategy with sepcial focus on managing exits.
