There are just three ways a trader can lose the money they put into their account (outside of some fraudulent activity):

1. Put on bad trades that result in losses that are larger than your winnings.

2. Put on good trades that are mismanaged (or your computer or platform experiences some technical challenge) and the result is losses larger than your winnings.

3. Have your stop losses hit. (Your stop losses stop "their" losses too.)

If there is another way please let me know.

Wire transfer fees are just the cost of doing business. Wouldn't be a bad idea to keep those to a minimum.

If you can solve those three problems, you get to keep your money and even add more to the balance.

Yeah!!!

Now let me ask, don't you find the habit (the discipline) of making money or having profitable months gets easier month by month? Kind of like athletic training and conditioning...performance gets easier/better the more consistent the training and exercise.

Here is a great audio clip about athletes and performance training. I think some of the principles can be applied to trading or any other performance-based endeavour.

Cheetah-Style Trading

This is a quote (editing mine) from the profile of a member at Forex Factory: Ehrek. I have to agree with them 150%.

Although the cheetah is the fastest animal in the world and can catch any animal on the plains, it will wait until it is absolutely sure it can catch its prey. It may hide in the bush for a week, waiting for just the right moment. It will wait for a baby antelope, and not just any baby antelope, preferably one that is sick or lame. Only then, when there is no chance it can lose it's prey, does it attack. That, to me, is the epitome of professional trading.

Wait until the market can't help but succumb to the pressure of the dominant forces in the marketplace at any given time, and go in that direction with your attack. No need to burn up unnecessary energy and resources when the same result can be achieved by waiting. The cheetah is not only fast, but smart.

Interesting Observation: The percentage of consistently profitable traders dropped in August. Have read several posts where there were comments of traders having a tough month in August. Could it be that more traders than some have anticipated are actually telling the truth? Or, is it just coincidence?

Hello Traders,

To my surprise, my threads have been moved to the Commercial Forum (beta). I am discussing the matter with the Administrator (Twee) as I have not put anything out there to FF members for sale. Will certainly make a post as to the outcome of the discussions and my decision.

I will continue to post the weekly wrap-ups on the blog during that time.

Hello Traders,

After reading the FF rules again, it seems as though anyone who provides a service or product to the FX industry "should have" their threads here. I have taught traders before becoming a member here, but have never placed ads on my blog via a signature link (though it has been mentioned occasionally in passing (during the course of a discussion) that I teach). Traders have contacted me via my blog for more information which I have sent for free. Some have asked questions via email which I have answered willingly. Others have asked me via the blog and PM to teach them. That I think is another issue. Will have to see how things play out, but if I continue to provide that service to the industry, this is where I'll be I guess. We'll see.
