Comments on the chart. Lots of headwinds for the euro. However we have ECB jawboning and threats as well to support it. The same signal is showing on the euraud

I would consider this trade gone wrong if price goes over 96.50

Today we have various reports out from the US but biggest of all we have Mr B speaking. The markets are looking for him to indicate - either in a convoluted way or straightforward way that we are having QE3.

It might be best sitting this one out and picking it up again on Monday...

Just as expected Mr B disappointed by not out-rightly saying that there will be QE. However the full text of his speech showed that it wasn't ruled out.

Now we wait for Mr D of Europe...

Cant help but pen some things that happened to me as a trader this week.

I had a bit of time off from my 9-5 this week and was able to devote more time to build screen time. This also afforded me the opportunity to increase the timeframes I usually consider. I added the 1h to the mix of the 4h, daily, weekly and monthly. You probably noticed more posts from me.

I found things difficult and a bit of second guessing came into play. I played the Dax, GbpJpy, EurGbp and Crude Oil. The 1hr chart was gyrating like a see-saw and hasty decisions were made - only to look at the 4hr chart and see glaring errors of judgement.

In the end I reverted to a minimum of 4hr candles and doing other things in between the closing of the 4hr candles.

My summary is this: we 9-5ers have no business with timeframes less than the 4hr timeframe. In fact if a simple EOD strategy based on pure price is more than enough. Yes our stops will be larger but so will the wins when we win.

I eventually want to do this full time but the way things are going I will continue to make trading decisions based on 4hr, daily, weekly and monthly charts.

I will do some analysis and setup trades when the markets have closed during the week. I would also do more in-depth analysis over the weekends. I will start every trade with the intention to hold for as long as possible- milking the trend and holding through minor bumps along the way.

So full-time to me will be the above. I will have a lot to time to do what I want, when I want to do it while the trades are doing their own thing. No sitting in front of the screen watching 1hr candles.

It wasn't all bad I watched the dax a lot and now have a better feel for the dax. I think I am bonding ...

i trade both the longer time frames and intraday timeframes from 1 minute up,ive even taken trades from a condensed 1 second chart.initially they seem very fast but in time i find myself waiting the next candle,i also use the bid/ask price for entry.

what i can say is that all time frames do exactly the same things.trend,range,consolidate,break s/r or hold.its just magnified in speed the lower you go

i am more anxious with my longer time trades because i have so much time to keep re evaluating them,whilst my short time frame trades im in and out

anyways i enjoy your market views

lol...at present everyone ( PUBLIC ).. are DR BOOM..
I am in the UK.. but when i visit the Shopping Malls and on TV i see STADIUMS for FOOTBALL .. FULL ( of people)..and than i wonder .. is there really a Recession in the UK ???
