We are just witnessed a 20 some pips drop. It looks like a big deal on M5 chart but is like a small dot on H4. Looking at a bigger picture gives a better and clear idea of the Aussie's moves. IMHO

Falling iron ore prices the key AUD metric

Australian iron ore prices fell nearly 5% to below $100 for the first time since 2009.

RBA Governor Stevens noted that the investment pipeline is still strong for the “a year or two” but with prices nearly halved in the past 18 months the momentum is sure to follow.


AUD will be driven by the whims of risk sentiment over the next month but the underlying trend will be driven by commodity prices. One analyst is worried:

Glyn Lawcock of UBS said he expected further falls. ”Now that it has broken through $US100 a tonne, traders I speak to think the price could get a 7 in front of it,” he said.

No. I was mentioning the way I looked at the market. Thinking big and gaining big. Although bigger TFs may miss the tops and bottoms, they do provide insurance. I would treat those missing pips as the premium paid to the insurance company.

I have some technical reasons to make me kinda think it's the beginning of the end for the bulls now.

The 1.0650 and 1.0716 I had in my weekly targets have slowly faded now, or at least we're not going to visit them very soon.

In my technical view, the weekly stochastic that's been giving me 1.0650 has crossed down the level 70, so it's an indication that the pair won't be seeing the 100% target very soon or maybe not ever. And also look at the shape of this week's candlestick. But who knows, I am often wrong.

p.s. unless we close above 1.0500 this week

You may be right. However, let's look at the stochastic patterns (> 70) of previous two peaks circled by red color. The current one is not their brother in my opinion.

Furthermore, my advanced platform indicates the third one has not touched the UTL yet.

I'm not too sure either whether or not the current one is their brother or even their neighbor.

But in some case, even after the stochastic line crosses down the level 70, it gives a spike or shall we call it the end of party firework. Maybe the firework would shoot us up there

Anyway, this weeks candlestick hasn't closed yet. There is still a chance that the stochastic line would rise above 70 voiding the cross, we'll see in 3 more hours

wouldn't you think that TLs are subjective? I sometimes do, but I draw it on some of my charts eventually, isn't it ironic?

Yes, it does but some TLs are drawn by the platform.
