Thanks a lot for explanation Oli. Well it seems to me now the best is to take only potential trades based on OS and OB area which are clearly comming from OB or OS, no just touching them and need to consider this resistance and pivot area. I am going to read it that way now. thanks again.

What are you really saying here? You make it sound like you get big draw downs and large stop loss if you don't use HA? What does HA bars have to do with DD and SL? The answer is of course nothing so i guess i am misunderstanding or missing something here right?

I insert myself into the discussion and thank you for the explanation, but the setup is very similar to 5 3 for the location of the Stoch, then the trade is successful.
Can you help me to idenficare best one and others?

HA should cut the noise out of the decision making process while observing the price action, which shouldve been helpful, at least in my estimation, regarding the trade in question; you couldve argued with the entry but the way I see it, stox have a measure of discretion that might have made the risk here personally reasonable. If the news had driven the price further downwards, for instance, views on the entry may differ.

The reference to draw-downs is a personal thing, not exactly related to HA directly. Think of it this way, if PA is noisy when you decide for a position, HA should help you stomach a draw-down if your edge tells you the market should go your way; for someone like me who finds it difficult to go as far as -9 pips it helps.

That's mad because I was away from the screen for a big part of the day but yes 1k + 2K +3k make me look like a 'big round number' junkie lol
When i came back I wasn't in any trade that required close nurturing and you know me by now, questions are more likely to get answers if they're accompanied by a chart...
I suppose I haven't reached RJ's threshold yet of getting annoyed with repeating stuff that is either on the first page (hint hint everybody) or only require a quick search...

That image with the annotations on it, by itself, is worth going on Page 1 titled something like "Before you ask...." in bold red letters. I was lurking on FF for about a month before I tumbled, by accident ("Let's see what THIS does.", kind of thing) onto the function of the "Hide Images" link inside the paper clip icon at the top of the page.

As for your round numbers fetish, we'll leave that for another time.

If you put the m15 stoch on your chart as most of us do, I think you'll find that as it was heading down then the buys would not be taken.

Not sure what you wanted to prove exactly but personally I didn't go into the sell you mention (marked with white line on my chart) I went into the one where I have marked with a vertical red line and took 10 pips when it couldn't get past the low from earlier, then before the one you have marked, it made no lower high it made a higher one and was only 8 pips from where it had stopped before.

Also with regard to point 4 the M15 had not recently come down from 80, the last time it was at 80 was 5 hours before.

Hi Arctic,
We now know that Bugs' trade was a 'failed' trade.
I'm a great believer that winning trades make you concentrate more on your growing bank account (we're only human after all) rather than the reasons why the trade was successful. Using failed trades to improve your trading and your understanding of Genesis shortfalls (indicators can't do everything for you) is as important if not more....

Look at Bugs chart and the area in blue before the reversal happened (1): with normal candlesticks you can't really deduct too much regarding PA and if anything it's looking progressively more bearish especially with the last candle.

Now look at the same area with HA candles (2): you have 4 dojis one after the other and as we know dojis represent at least indecision in the market (some say it's the first sign of reversal) because the market goes one way, then the other and finally we end up where we started (the HA candles have no or very little body).
Now, you add this to the warnings I expressed in a previous post because of the 2 positive stochastic divergences and you have at least a case for tightening your SL (possibly to B/E).

I have to declare that I'm not the biggest fan of HA candles (I even prefer bars to candlesticks as they show better the overall structure of a market - candlesticks can be 'distracting') but HA have been put in the Genesis system after careful thoughts and lengthy testing and not because people wanted to make it more complicated for non HA lovers, so I use them with this strategy.

The Heiken Ashi Basics file comes from the PDF part of a different strategy but I've only kept the HA bits so as not to introduce yet more new stuff...

What you 'prove' is that you can not and will not follow the system. You have taken away the HA candles, added more moving averages, added the TMA slope indi, added 2 more Matrices etc etc.

You chart looks nothing like the system charts that are posted.

I have no problem with people customising the system for themselves, especially as experienced traders tend to have their own favourites. However, from reading all your posts it is very apparent that you have only limited experience in FX trading, and yet you have changed the system quite considerably.

There is no need to make those changes, adding and changing the system will not make you understand it......you need to get back to the basics and *learn the system* completely.....you need to understand the market and how it flows and when.

In short, you need to get rid of all that crap on your charts and start over.....keeping your charts clean and simple.

This system has not been haphazardly thrown together, it has been developed and tested over time by some very experienced traders who give their knowledge and experience to you, for free.

If you think you know better, and that adding all this stuff to your charts makes you profitable, you're dreaming.

I will always help people who try to learn the system.....who study it and ask sensible questions. I won't answer questions when I see charts that bear little resemblance to the very system that this thread is named after....the Genesis Trading System.

So.....my advice to you is to use the templates as supplied in post one and learn how to trade. The system is profitable.......it speaks for itself.

I don't suffer fools Oli......and I don't spoon feed people who are just plain lazy. If people post a chart and ask sensible questions, I will always help. If people just open the page and go straight to the zip file, install the system and then start asking questions, then they are likely to get the short sharp end of my tongue!

All the person has to do is to to read (say) the first 10 or 20 pages of the thread......most questions will be answered by the time they get there.

Also, it says on Post #1: "Note: This is not a system for noobies to FX trading. Do not come here asking and/or expecting to be shown how to trade.....the experienced traders will not show you any mercy!!"

No one can cry that they were not warned.
