The forex markets are thrashing about but going nowhere. just check out the 4hr chart of the gbpjpy. I havent see a channel between 124.50 ans 125.00 this long. This wait and movement will do nothing but churn the trading account. If we are not careful it will leave us second-guessing the indicated trends. So preserve capital and wait out this indecision. Tighten stops if you are trading pro-dollar

Some comments on the chart.

BTW i will be looking at the behaviour of this pair at the breakout point if price gets back there. If it bounces from there then it is a long. If it falls right through then it means the breakout was a fakeout (hmm that rhymes)

hi Olu,

i was also watching these levels,15768,15778,the last two months pevious highs,being a scalper i traded the bounces of these levels.range bound upto 15815 area,until the words of wisdom from the states at 7.00 pm uk time,were price took off .

to be honest,i anticipated price falling back below the monthly highs.and like you would have looked for shorts.

NOW WHAT,all the related pairs and instruments i follow look over exended,
is 161, possible,thats my next major level ?

Thanks for visiting and contributing to the thread. The Feds minutes came out and it showed a willingness of the members to go for QE3 or some form of stimulus. The us$ was flattened and technicals were thrown out of the window.



I was stopped out of a nice and profitable dax position

In answer to your question 'Now What?' I will leave the currencies alone till monday. let the market brood over this. The momentum is still in the market and it might continue tomorrow. The markets will soon factor qe3 in and volatility will return to normal.

Things are over-extended right now against the us$ but can get even more extended.

Yes the gbpusd can get to 1.61xx. I will be looking for signs of momentum exhaustion but today real technical damage was made to the us$

Thanks for the charts Golfer. Almost all of them are below the cloud. Nke is somewhat still holding up. Cant believe CMG is almost $300. This might be the one to lose a lot of froth. BBY is still in deep trouble. You uploaded a chart 2 weeks ago of it going down and it is still going down. The stockmarket advancers/decliners ratio is bad even with the indices at lofty heights. A few big stocks eg Apple are holding things up.
