DislikedYour definition of washing is correct. Here is a current example on USD/JPY. In my opinion 78.77 was shaping up to be a great level to trade on the retest but then look at the price action within the blue box. Suddenly it was trading in and out of the area, not respecting it as support or resistance. In my book that means that we are back to square one and I will not trade it until I see a number of new consecutive touches as S/R as appropriate.

DislikedHi Guys,
Follow up on the NZDCAD break and pullback possibility.
Is the below chart indicating failed oppurtunity, or can we still wait for the PA to pull back.
CheersIgnored

Not a bad level though, nice chart.Ignored

DislikedHey Matt,
Hope you dont mind if I share my perspective on this topic.
The 78.8 level was definetely an important level to watch, since it acted as support on 3 occasions and then turned into resistance for the last few weeks.
Since it did act as resistance on so many occasions it is not realistic to expect it will do it again. There is just a certain amount of selling/buying power present at a certain level and when it is spent, price will go through.
Thats why many people belive (and rightly so) that we get the strongest reaction from a...Ignored
