Tax good point, everything after 8K you'll capital gains tax of 22% is it these days, atleast your not on a big wage to cause you'd pay 40% if so.
You likely need 250K for paying tax & buying house and leaving enough in to keep trading at the level your trading at, it's never easy is it.
Are you not trading via a Tax free Spread betting account ? I sure as hell am
classed as gambling a tiny bit of your spread you pay gambling tax on so slightly higher spread, but that is it!!

I don't use spreadbetting firms as I've had quite a bad experience with one of them, before that one went bust. I believe the law regarding spreadbetting is picky if that is your only source of income but if you have an income where you pay income tax on it, and spreadbet on the side, you'll be ok, thats what I got told from a tax advisor! But I imagine most of them don't know their own arsehole from their earhole.

According to the HM Robbers and Customs website, CGT is only paid on any profits over £10,600.

Wouldn't surprise me, if they've got a work around think its only Micro account so max lot size $10 per pip or something anyway tricky for you.
Time to start trading and withdrawing your profits into a off shore bank account.
Profits should only be classed as money you've withdrawn from the market, but they will be able to see it, so you can't dodge it sadly.
So if you withdraw your start account value + £10,600 this year they zero tax to pay!! I think!!
