Read some of the articles about his trading back in the day. he could kill a market with his style. Dont forget he understood orderflow. and devised a system which wasnt his really anyways to exploit it.

If the question is "Did I give $ 2,000 for a training course?" - My answer is no. While each element does not pass through your mind and your hands. It is easy to draw all these lines, more difficult to interpret it, but not impossible.

Thats all we need to know about the validity of whats "accepted".

All the Gann techniques and Astronomy is very interesting, but is anyone making any money? What I think would be more enticing for casual cursory visitors are some accurate predictions.

remember that gann didn't trade forex in small TFs, he swing traded equities and commodities D1 and higher

learning his techniques for technical analysis and money management alone will improve your trading, the more esoteric stuff, if you understand it, adds to the edge. i'm sure that profitable gann traders would still be able to perform without the astrology input just those who are able to understand have a sharper blade.

Thank you for the respectful answers, fellas, as I do not mean any disrespect to your hard work. I find the whole thing interesting and was taught for a while by an expert on Gann and astro several years ago. (It took me a couple months to realize the guy was losing money hand over fist!)

My question was more about Gann himself and some things that anybody should question before they take all the time and effort to learn how someone trades. The most important thing is, HAS THIS GUY MADE A LOT OF MONEY FROM TRADING? Yes or no? Yeah, some articles were written back then about his trading prowess, but how do we know the author of that article wasn't being paid to push Gann as some trading guru that, if you could just learn his system, could make anyone rich! The most obvious way is to look at the man himself. Did he ever become an extremely rich man, as that is exactly what he would be if he were that great of a trader. HIS OWN SON SAYS NO!! His own son was also in the business and apparently told anyone who asked that his pop was a fraud. His son didn't use his father's system, and yeah, you can say he just wasn't meant to know, but I find that quite ridiculous that his father couldn't teach him THE WAY. That should really not be so easily waved off. If his son was trying to hide something, why did his dad write a bunch of books in the first place?

If you all aren't making money, (don't know if you are or not because it seems like barely any calls in here, just pretty charts) you really should question these things. Do any of you guys KNOW, for sure, that your mentor is rich from trading? Like, you actually saw undeniable proof of this.

If you are making money, then much respect from me and I hope it continues for you. Honestly I do, as I know Gann traders are amongst the hardest workers in the biz.

I completely understand your view on this whole Gann and son fall out. Depending on what web sites you read up on this material, some are all pro Gann, anti-son, others are anti-Gann, pro son stuff. My take on it, and I'm new on this whole Gann angle way of trading, is that the father didn't like how his son wouldn't study and do the hard work that it takes to master this stuff. The father wasn't going to give away everything that he sweated over for nothing. Then I read other material that W.D. Gann had money off shore, tied up in other stuff, and that he didn't die a poor man, like stated, etc......... I do know one thing, though, just reading up on his stuff has really helped my trading. And the parts that helped were the greed factor and patiently waiting for price to come to me, instead of chasing it. The only thing that I have to overcome now is the fear factor. You wouldn't believe how many times I've canceled trades, just to see price go where I projected, using Gann's method. Then other times, I wake up, in profit, take what's on the table, just to see price go to my original target. All based on fear. When I first started this whole Gann thing, here's a chart that I drew up, then later on, I just ignored it, while drawing other ones, just to see price fall off the cliff. If I would have paid more attention to this whole "where price meets time" thing, I could have made a tidy profit. I know, I know, "if," "if," "if," doesn't cut it. Just saying. But just studying this whole Law of Vibration has totally changed the way I look at life. And I see why Gann went to the pyramids to find the way. I was stationed in the Sinai peninsula when I was in the Army. I took two tours of the pyramids, and it really opened my eyes on how they were built, lining up with the stars, predicting the future, etc....... That's just my two pips.

On the chart below, notice where price is at right now, fighting it out with an old trend line that I drew up, I don't know how many months ago. Good luck in your venture with this way of trading.

Really amazing that there can be such a long discourse on this. There are some good teachers and there are some bad teachers. There are people who can use methods but can't teach. There are some who teach just the minimum. I never paid a single cent for golf, tennis lessons. When I saw how some coaches are teaching - I shake my head. It may take years to one day realize some adjustment to make things work. That happened to me. No formal lessons in the game. I dont even read golf magazines anymore, techniques, equipment, etc. I don't go to the range to practice and still have decent game. Instead of expecting coaches to give you all the tips and tricks, it is just impossible for you to execute all the 100 instructions in that second.

I suppose that is the same with trading.

Good point. It kind of backs up with what I've always heard, "You can't teach somebody to run."

Just my two cents on this.

They are posting their calls on their charts as to what I can see. I may not understand all of them but when we dig deeper into this whole Gann thing, we'll probably understand. I'm already 4 months in and yet I haven't finished researching.

While studying this, I have gotten some consecutive profit for my micro account since I began. Like ForExtraPips, I also learned about patience and controlling the greediness that most traders face. On top of that, combining this with an already profiting system would be a devastating blow to the market.

Besides, they aren't forcing anyone to believe and use the techniques. If someone does so, they're welcome. It's just that they too have to work hard to get references. Everything has been written in this and on the other thread if I'm not mistaken.

True, I believe someone has also said that on the other thread too. There are just a lot of ways how Gann did them and we just have to know which is which and how to use them.

There's the Sq9, Sq144, Sq52, Angles, Gann emblem, use of planets, and etcetera if there's more. I think everything is connected and I just don't understand where to find the missing link.

Why reley on a mentor? Even if things are thought for many years, one needs to go through their own personal evolution to understand it. To know and to understand are worlds apart.

If you consider that understanding has to come from a mentor, then perhaps i can find truth in your doubt. But, from my personal point of view there's something much greater than a mentor: Your own Analysis.

You have numbers, you have statistical tools, technical tools, computers, etc.
There is NO problem whatsoever in running an excell file (or technically worded a CSV file) through an anylisis. You can run 1000's of analyses extremely fast, it doesn't take 10 years to get answers on questions. Especially if the question is regarding a technique, ALL techniques can be tested mathematically, the only difference is the interpretation of techniques, especially since people want to believe that Gann wrote mysterious, he actually didn't, he just used words that have very specific meanings in some circles of life and an absolute subjective meaning in other circles of life.

So, then back to your question about making money, the answer is simple, find the results of analysis that work and use that technique. I personally do not care whether that technique was invented by Gann, Fann, Wann or Kann... it has to work or it is useless. No need to have endless doubt or discussions on it, it's only showing the lack of statistical numbers to back it up. I personally use my own blend of things that I found statistically interesting.

I am also not in the business to make calls, i do not know about everybody else, but my livelihood depends on having the money in the bank, not depending on what others consider me to be or what others think of me (logically).

I do not sell any courses, neither do I use marketing to sell anything else like trade signals. I've been adding material (mainly in the Planetary Cycles thread) on things that I believe are worth while SHARING. Sure, that doesn't make me an authority, but it doesn't make me a fake either (logical?)

So if it doesn't hurt you or eat up much of your time, i can vouch for a number of people on this board as excellent traders and really recommend taking on board some of these people's well wished advice.

Cheers mate, my your trading be fruitfull and most importantly may your trading carve out the life you want for yourself, because ultimately it is about having the freedom to live your own life, do your own thing, not depend on anyone else, whether it is a boss, a teacher or a guru.

Because for me the current analysis is very confusing, I decided to analyze the model for the third quarter. Here everything is in its place, right?
At this time, the price received resistance from the main diagonal.
If the main diagonal continues to be resistance, we can expect the price move below 2329 and even below yesterday's low.
If the main diagonal support, we can expect the price to move above 2451.
Finally, here's the most likely targets at the end of 8-day period.
