the trouble is with rebates you have a 3rd party involved and thats when things can stuff up. most big traders dont use rebate programs.
read dukas front page where it talks about other broker programs. it says that other broker can charge extra and above dukas commissions, i think it does anyway.
Some brokers let third parties expand the broker spread to get that "rebate" that they then give back to the client.

I think you are misinform "market maker style".

I searched for something that I could post to here explaining the difference between spreads and commissions, and I was suprise to see how many articles explain with the market maker business model, where you don't pay the the commission only the spread, and the commissions are included in the spread, most don't even refer the ecn business model. Other article even said that forex it's a commissions free business.

Too much disinformation going around.

if this crap happens while im on a trade and i get hurt, i'll move along to another broker.

I was watching the screen and it blinked for a milisecond and all quotes got corrected: no more gaps from that freeze.

Never had that freezing before.

They had a freezer yesterday on the ~50 pip move in EU;
now there is a ~20 pip gap in the M1 (EU) on my chart.

I have shut down the platform, erased cached data (~1 GB and 50000 files!), restarted and still the gap, in fact now two, one of ~20 pip and 14 minutes long, the other 2 minutes long and ~10 pip.

Try chating them that issue to see it resolved.

Yea I have done so. They say "will fix problem soon". Yea "soon" is months now: cannot start my strategy for like an hour or so, just because it loads historical data and apparently server is down; but this problems with hist. server are months old. If you really want to fix a problem then you fix it.. but seems DC becomming new oanda

Dukas has the right to reject you, whats good for your country does not have to be good for a private company. This is obvious. And all the smiley faces will not make it otherwise.


Why is everyone complaining about paperwork???

If you do what they ask it takes a week or two by express mail. If anyone cannot follow the simple instructions, its better off they do not join anyway.


Just keep the thread on topic, and let the paperwork take care of itself.

not only on July 26, on 08.02 the platform sucks again,,

(I contacted the support desk but he did not provide any feedback only saying that they're trying to blablabla...)

well, I do think this is ABNORMAL
and even make me wonder whether they are CHEATING or PLAYING TRICKS on customers.

Today platform also froze when there was a 20 pips move higher.

Well if platform freezes when the market moves, it means in essence dukascopy is not willing to take customer orders at that time, because more likely than not they are taking other side of a deal, and on fast markets they are faced with 2 options - first - take the other side of a deal, and lose money, for they wont be able to offset their exposure fast enoght not to lose money, and -second - they may refuse to do it, i.e. to take other side of a deal, which is in essence is "platform stoppage", in this case they are risking to lose their clients. So their choice is obvious - they would rather lose clients than cash. But actually losing clients means pretty much the same - they will lose money.
