Yep I think theres a big crash coming. Read something over the weekend about the states, going bankrupt and CAFR's

Basically all the states have huge funds invested in bonds, treasuries, equities etc. Can you imagine what would happen if the states all decided to sell their bonds etc.

I'll pst the link if I find it.

That's interesting as I have my eye on T-Bonds at the moment for a potential short (once price breaks down that is). Lets hope its not too violent in the beginning so we can actually establish a position to hold to the bitter end.
Daily - Could have a Double Top forming?
Monthly - Looks a bit parabolic to me?

10:42 EDT - Even as Bernanke drops no hint on QE3, which hurts stocks and helps bonds pare losses, Kevin Walter, head of Treasury trading at BNP Paribas, says Fed will launch new stimulus at the September policy meeting. Investors surely are not happy that Bernanke didn't mention QE3 on Tues, as Fed chairman is downbeat on growth, but Walter notes that Bernanke represents the whole committee when testifying before lawmakers. "We still believe QE3 will come in September," Walter says. The 10-year note is recently 3/32 lower to yield 1.474%, continuing to recover as US stocks fall further.

I kind of wish they would just do it. Make it an easy trading the rest of the year... lol.

Not really....think of it this way: Who isn't easing? The whole thing is a race to the bottom, and I think the Fed will not ease until after the elections. Unless there is something really bad in the data......

Bankers, some of the dumbest people on the planet. Just because they want the sugar high doesn't mean it will happen. It has yet to help the economy in any substantial way.

Too true......I look at the softs/grains every day. I could never find a logical pullback in which to consider a buy, the moves are very parabolic.....missed the bus on those as its way to late to jump on now in my opinion.

I intend to possibly short Soybeans as this is the most hardy of the grains and 'could' recover should they get some (a lot) of rain. The Corn crop is stuffed.

Energies on the other hand may just be starting the up move.....I got long Heating Oil on the 3rd July.......so far so good.

It's hard to tell really as the FX markets aren't regulated in the normal sense of the word.

As for the stock markets (in the US) I think we could see a shift in the way people are allowed to trade. However, in the meantime it will flourish. The main reason is that the exchanges make commission off of all of the trades. In other words - the NYSE and NASDAQ are all for this bullshit. As the HFT traders make up as much as 70% of the NYSE orders on a daily basis, it will take a lot to unwind this bullshit. However, I think there is a scenario we...

the problem is HFT have actually been drying up volume in many of these exchanges, look at CME, NYMEX, LIFFE etc etc the HFT has flooded out locals and the exchanges are starting to note this as revenue has dropped off a cliff..

There's probably a good reason for it but why do you not use pending orders to buy the breakouts? For my Donchian channel trading I wait for the close of the candle to be above the channel top and it works fine but pending orders are profitable too, at least in my testing.

The corn crop is screwed at this point I think. My stepfather lives in the middle of nowhere, and he tells me that the local crops are in trouble. They are producing ears of corn about half of the normal size.......and Ohio has been hot, but not as hot and dry as some of the larger corn producing states......

One thing to pay attention to: ethanol. If they cut production, this would put a lot of corn back into the market.

I hope so.......HFT is a mess. I cannot but help to think of the retirement accounts that it messes with. If the exchanges start to lose money, that is what will move the ball against all of the HFT.......
