anyone have any insight as to why the difference?

also notice the other long wicks on the pro account, also to confirm my other trading accounts with other companies the chart looks closer to the regular account of alpari, wonder why the pro account gets these special wicks

We are aware of spikes on NZD related pairs overnight and are investigating the issue. In the meantime, we have other currency pairs, which are unaffected. I apologise for the inconvenience.

seems like there is a spike every day at the same time so as long as spreads dont widen, it equals easy money.
The point here is that on the regular Alpari US account there are no spikes in price. But on the Alpari US pro account there are these spikes. Now keep in mind these are not demo accounts both are live. The point I'm trying to make here is that on the account with the much larger minimum deposit requirements $10,000 (Alpari Pro) there are these spikes in price. On the same exact chart as the account with a $250.00 min deposit (regular Alpari standard account ) there are no spikes in price at all.

Seems like they've had a problem with "spikes on NZD related pairs overnight" and are trying to investigate/fix it. Sounds reasonable to me.....

If you lost money because of an erroneous quote(s) then raise an issue with them....if you made money then don't forget to give it back!
So If I had placed the same exact long position on both my Alpari pro and standard accounts + placed my stop loss's at the 0.77198 level. I would have been stopped out on the pro but not the standard account.

I'm short this pair so it doesn't have anything to do with losing money. The point is they only had a problem with "spikes on NZD related pairs overnight" on the accounts that by there own design have larger balances. Explain to me how this is a reasonable answer.

Why is it only a problem on the pro account's? And at the moment I'm not interested in your "other currency pairs, which are unaffected" Im talking about the pair that was affected.

As far as I can see they haven't provided an answer, reasonable or otherwise, all they've said is they're investigating the issue which sounds reasonable enough to me. Maybe once it's been investigated, and resolved, they will explain more about the circumstances which surrounded it's occurrence.

I'm guessing they have various servers and various liquidity providers, which may explain the discrepancy. At the end of the day it's only an erroneous spike and they seem willing to help. What more would you like them to do?

I have more than one account with Alpari as well as with other brokers. And the spikes don't show up on the other charts either. There are several on that one Alpari pro chart that does not appear on any chart with the other brokers. I wasn't looking fro Alpari uk,Us or any other branch of Alpari to do anything. All I wanted to know was has any one else on these forums seen anything like this.
I've been noticing a lot of spikes around this time everyday on IBFX live as well.

There was a system wide spike originating at Reuters so anyone who takes a direct feed our Piggy Backs pricing from a Bank using Reuters as a primary source would have been affected. Also at the time of day most if not all Fix connections( Bank to Broker API) go down for temporary maintenance at the date change . With few banks around , brokers are relying on 1 maybe 2 feed at that time Generally pricing algos would filter out invalid moves but from what I understand from the point source , the move occurred in a series of ticks lower ( midpoints) and then back up again making the price difficult to filter.

seems like nothing there
brokers who spend over $20 million to ensure they maintain regulations when the US market is declining in number of traders wont deliberately make issues that put them on the regulatory radar.
