Australia has grown at an average annual rate of 3.6 per cent for over 15 years; in comparison to the OECD countries annual average of 2.5 per cent this includes the 08-09 debacle where they outpaced other majors. They did have a slowdown but in terms of a recession they have not experienced what we have experienced or what the EU is currently experiencing.

I have to say.. Good Arguments from both sides! When you have a position you will obviously more biased towards your position.. I mean -- we're in it for the money, but both perspectives and everyone defending their points, pretty well.. Is quite intriguing.

I am keeping a long view but holding short positions at this points. The bias is depending on the time frames.

Yep, its interesting how even fundamentals can be interpreted so completely differently.....yet both arguments are logical and well thought out. This is why I mainly just stick to what the charts tell me(technical analysis).

I agree, with that.. Market sentiment right now is border line.. longish but the trend is still up, with a short bias untill a more reflective long trend is established.. I.e it breaks into 1.03 and then past last resistence which was around. 1.0330 which will indicate further move up towards.. 1.04 and so on and so forth.. and then on the other hand.. a break below 1.0120ish will indicate further way down.. Right now.. it is trading at its average back and forth and from what I've seen yesterday some consolidation so..something will happen soonish..

Any idea when the FOMC is going to make an announcement or could it be any time like the G7,G20, etc ?

well that sucked....I was thinking sell, sell at lunch when it was around 260-270. oh well.

Now to figure out where to get back in to go north.

A few members expressed the view that further policy stimulus likely would be necessary to promote satisfactory growth in employment and to ensure that the inflation rate would be at the Committee's goal. Several others noted that additional policy action could be warranted if the economic recovery were to lose momentum, if the downside risks to the forecast became sufficiently pronounced, or if inflation seemed likely to run persistently below the Committee's longer-run objective. The Committee agreed that it was prepared to take further action as appropriate to promote a stronger economic recovery and sustained improvement in labor market conditions in a context of price stability.


Hmmm....how to interpret this? A few members think stimulus is 'likely'...but it still looks like a 'wait and see' for others.

If this Pattern does not invalidate then could provide another opportunity after FOMC event is digested. For now Im short!!
