You can't deposit via Credit Card directly to Armada, they force you to go through MB which sucks because depositing to MB comes with % fees (not to mention the limitations) and then depositing from MB to Armada involves ANOTHER % fee.

For a $5000 deposit you end up paying like $200 just for a stupid deposit.

That's bullshit.
3-5% fee is pretty consistent for credit card funding, especially with foreign transactions (vs local cards). Usually there will be deposit bonuses or other incentives to help cover the fee, but the merchant does have a real cost (and risk) associated with accepting credit cards directly. Especially for a cash business like forex.

I'm sure with a profitable strategy, the client can make this back in weeks if not days. Focus more on the opportunity to sit at the table with a profitable strategy. Don't worry too much about fees in this sense; start trading the account up.

I do know that vantagefx has a local deposit option for many countries for deposits and withdraws. This saves big on wire deposits (and restrictions). I think GoMarkets will have it soon InstaForex has it but only a few countries (Thailand, Malaysia, etc).

not everyone is sending/receiving money within the EU. Different country's banking regulations add/reduce difficulty for sending money to/from the country via official bank channels. But when there is a will, there is a way.

But that is interesting that wires are free. is it SWIFT wires, or other form of electronic funds transfter. free swifts is pretty good deal for doing cross-border transactions. How soon do the wires get delivered? I would imagine same-day credit if done before a cutoff period?

Its not same day - but the SEPA milestones get tightend up every year, so that it will be, sooner or later. If our ccy wont blow up in our face, that is.

At the moment its 2 to 3 business days if i am not mistaken.


P.S. apparently they are not free by definition, but they have to apply the same fees for international SEPA wires like for domestic wires. So it actually depends - at least i can do free wires to the UK.

anyone trading with them in MT4 with a proxy server ? I'm firewalled at my company, and wondering if anyone knows their proxy server (for demo). And yes, I have sent an email to support(haven't responded yet)

Depending on the latency to the broker's trading server, you can get 2-4 order tickets filled in 1 second if the broker is using market execution. I suppose if you are hyper aggressive that might not be enough, but for most retail traders this would be sufficient.

I would be a bit sceptical about Armadas new additional LPs - how is that supposed to work with an exchange model? Either everyone sees the additional liquidity displayed in the lmax book, or they are routing some orders to their new LPs directly. Which sort of nullifies the advantage of central ordermatching of an exchange.

And i suppose, if one of the Armada-specific LPs fills an order, the full commission goes to Armada (as opposed to having to pay lmax too) ? I'm not at all convinced this is an improvement for clients.
It is an improvement as far as I'm concerned, provided everything continues to work well (e.g. execution speed remains the same etc). I don't care how they do it or who gets the commissions and who doesn't.

I just remembered that FastBrokers does have a feature of using multiple liquidity providers besides LMAX, except they require you deposit a large amount for this, I think.

It's a bit different. With Fastbrokers you can trade LMAX, Integral, or different Currenex feeds all in the same platform, but can only trade one at a time. For example if I want to trade EU I select which feed I want to take the quote from - it does not blend them together.

They do however have their own feed called ECN2, which I believe is probably a blend of all their feeds, and possibly what you speak of.

They are a great broker and their software Pathfinder one of a kind. If anyone wants to trade LMAX, this is the way to do it - forget Armada and all these brokers who use MT4. Metatrader is an outdated piece of junk.

I thought HFT was flash trading and arbitrage something that would be impossible for any retail trader to do anyway.

As a retail trader HFT to me means a latency of less than 100ms.

Appears to be much vitriol directed at the mt4 bridge. For the record, comparing live accounts, I have noticed no difference using armada and lmax side by side. Absolutely no quote latency or execution delay between the two. If anyone else also has live accounts with both outfits feel free to express opinion. If you have not got live accounts or are just mouthing off, then prove otherwise.

A lot of people here can't actually afford to go direct with LMAX, there are traders here from 3rd world countries who are starting out with $500 accounts trading 0.01 lots. why "save up and wait" as MT4 is more than ok for swing trading. The LMAX IB's offer an ideal solution for these individuals who would otherwise be scammed out of business with the bucketshops.

Please stop writing trash, you obviously Have no idea about the Virtual Dealer, so please inform yourself first about what the virtual dealer is.

But from the technical perspective it is very easy to add more Liquidity Providers into the MT4 Server infrastructure, so this move is excellent.

Does anyone of you use a higher leverage than the default account size with them? I wonder if their leverage terms are static or flexible based on their terms:

As far as I know, you can request for a higher or even a lower leverage. Just send them an email.

Got a question about LMAX API.

I would like to use the LMAX API, but there is a problem: In addition to the API, I need charting Functionality, specifically the trades that have been made must be displayed in a Chart.

So my question is, how does the LMAX API integrate into a charting environment? How do the other Traders that use the LMAX API handle this?

I am not sure they have public methods to grab historical rates, but I have also heard the quality of their data is poor. An alternative would be to use the Pathfinder Trader API by fastbrokers, I know they collect their own data up to the tick size for all pairs in the LMAX and the other liquidity feeds (currenex etc). They give you access to their data through the API as well.
