Hi Grumbo,

I created the strategy years ago, but wasn't able to introduce it until I became an analyst here at GFT. I'm not sure if Seller9 has written the code in the same way as I envisioned, but you are more than welcome to take a look at the guide and video that I created showing how to set it up on our DealBook 360 platform. If you are using MT4 exclusively, then just use Bands instead of Bollinger Bands for the indicator.

Here are the links for the video: http://www.gftforex.com/Getting-Star...px?VideoId=231

and guide: http://www.gftforex.com/land/?aid=14179

Shameless plug alert!!!!
If you guys want to follow any of my analysis you can follow me on Twitter (@FXexaminer) or Facebook (FX Examiner).

Hi Seller9, mm16

I have today put this EA on a few pairs in demo and had 3 trades 2 on EU closed in profit and one on AUd still open,
Awsome stuff.
Is there a description of the methodology that is incorporated? The reason I ask is that in backtest I do not get similar results. The trades taken in backtest are not shown on the chart for some reason so I cannot see the conditions under which it doesn't work so well.

I have searched the thread and visited GFT but cannot find the strategy.

Hope you can help but anyway -fantastic thread - I will...

You can attend Neal's webinar on GFT, that's where you can find the description of the strategy.

Seller9,

I've been testing this and it's looking really good. I actually set up a very similar manual system for my son to trade, but the trades are taken a little closer to the bands and the bands are a little wider. Ironically, I was thinking of finding someone to code it when this appeared. His problem has been exits, which I didn't specify very clearly.

In the EA, when you say default settings, are you using the 0 stop loss or one of the other stop loss options? If the BEJS is true, does that conflict with the hard stop loss? Also, how...

Do you work in a Hospital?

I was using 25 pips as a fixed stop loss but I am now trying the BB with offset of 5 pips as I took a couple full SL hits.
For partial TP I am using just 25 pips at this time and the other TP would be 50 pips.
The BEJS does not interfere because it is hidden, the Broker doesn't see it, thats why its important you leave the computer connected and MT4 running when using it. My settings are after it goes into profit by 25 pips it moves the hidden stop loss to BE + 5 pips, and then after that the hidden SL will move 1 pip everytime the profit increases.

Thanks for the post Neal, I am glad I didn't step on any toes by posting this method, it just seems to simple to work, but so far it is in the GREEN.

I have a few other pieces of code that were added to the EA other than the original method to give it a better edge (I have to have a few secrets), and avoid a few bad entries, but other than that it is fairly close to your original idea.

Thanks

I am going to try a different Stop Loss set up than the original idea of this method. The original idea was TP = 50 pips and SL = 25 pips, I took a couple full 25 pip hits and I think by using the top or bottom band instead it may cut the loss a little. From looking at the charts I think I will try the following.

StopLossPips = 0
OffsetPIPS = 5

In a long trade this will put the stop loss 5 pips below the lower band and in a short trade it will put it 5 pips above the top band.

Here is a trade thats open now with your EA, this is with aggressive = false, so it entered at the open of the third GREEN candle. If this was set to true it would have entered at the open of the second GREEN candle.

See the false entry just before this one that reversed, thats what I am trying to avoid.

Have to run, have Grass to cut.

Good Luck All

Don't work at a hospital, but I've worked at places that seemed like mental hospitals. I don't have anything to do with a lab. My first name is Gila and last name starts with B.

The entry condition in my system was to enter on the open of the first bar after the bar that closes outside the bands. This would get you in sooner. On the other hand, there might be more false breaks. If you widen the bands, as you did, there shouldn't be too many false breaks. I was using MA bands, with 20 MA of the high and 20 MA of the low, shift 3. Probably using 20 for these bands, shift 3, offset 5, would be about the same. Maybe you could try this entry and see how it works.

I'm going to try the 0 stop loss and see how that goes (stop at other side of bands).

Gila

Hi Neil, Seller9,mm16,
thanks for your responses.

Neil your video is not accessible without opening an account. Thats fair enough , I have so many demo accounts , 4 "live" but only now use 2. None of the live MT4.

I hopefully will receive the Pdf guide though. Thanks again.

G.

Edit: Forgot to add the spread to the offset in the screen shot, so it would be offset + or - spread depending on the trade.
So if its a Short trade with offset of 5 pips and spread of 2 pips the SL would be 7 pips above the top band.

At this time the Bid has to be greater than the High or Low of the previous HA candle. Do you want to be able add an offset to that so it has to be a certain number of pips above/below the previous HA candle High/Low?

Yes to add a certain number of pips. I don't know if this will help to avoid fake outs with the way renko/HA candles look.

OK, its been added as "TriggerOffsetPips" and it works with either aggressive or non aggressive, so if you don't want it added set it to zero.

It is ardasu_Test_EA_v3 on the first page.

Can we add filter maxium lenth of signal bar pips.
for eaxmple 1 will set 10pips.if signal bar bigger than 10pips. no trade.

second wish is: can we add aggresive mode.when we wait clear bar,the trade
could be late.

you see uj picture and others.uj bars are normal. But audusd and usdcad bars are very hihg pips. This is risky trade Ithink.
thank you.
