How much would you charge to sell your system?

It's impossible to sell a system... too many cheats who don't want to pay and too many snake oil sales men to trust.

If it was any good and you sold it what's to stop someone from rebranding it and resell it cheaper than you?

It's simply impossible. Any lock other than trade signals can be broken.... but selling trade signals when some brokers give them away with the likes of "Trade Copy"... you're dreaming a pipe dream to try to sell it to fund an account in today's world of free this and free that.

It's really better for you if you trade it yourself. The market for untested or tested ea's is virtually $0.

Your quoted back test results for year 2002 were +80%. Are you saying that equals £8000 profit, based on roughly 50 trades? If so, the maths does not seem to add up.

Without knowing your win/loss ratio it is difficult to estimate the R/R, so using a 50% ratio, 25 winning trades made £8000 profit, or £320 per trade - but you risked £1000 on each trade? How was the £8000 made up?

No amount of back testing will ever prove that a 'system' works. This analogy is no different from playing online poker using play chips and real money.

If the system is as good as you think, then you must clinically forward test it on a live account, using micro lots, then publish those results.

A 10% capital risk per trade is ludicrous. Just bear in mind, you had six consecutive losing trades in 2006. If these were your first six trades on your micro account, then your initial capital of £100 would immediately drop to £40. Sobering thought.

IF you can clinically prove a system works, my final suggestion would be to find a sponsor, i.e. someone willing to risk their own capital and draft, agree and sign a legal, binding business contract.

AGREED WHICH IS WHY I MIGHT REDUCE IT TO 5%


Hope that answers your questions - I guess the only answer is to trade it live for one year in microlots, then as you suggest - try and find a sponsor.

There is a simple logic as to why this shows a small edge in historical data, but no one knows if this will continue in the future.

As with any strategy, charts can change over time - especially volatility, and daily ranges, which is why profit or loss is based on account size and not pip size.

Made up example in pips :
The chart tells me to long Cable at 1.60 stop 1.59 and tp 1.61
lets say for example this wins, I have made 100 pips

Next trade
The chart tells me to short Cable at 1.61 stop 1.63 tp 1.59
lets say for example this loses, I have lost 200 pips

Conclusion: won one and lost one, but still down 100 pips.
By changing the trade size to £1000 per trade I have essentially broke even.

I have not checked , but I doubt this would show a profit if each trade had a profit or loss determined by pips , as the winning trades may be less pips than than the losing trades.

you will find your money in bringing the system public once you have a track record. before then, its all a pipe dream. Get the system on a cent account if you have to like one stated at Oanda. As mentioned here. Don't sell it. Use it

this is not going to end well.....

also, your system is absolute 0 !!! in backtests. It helps when definining the strategy/system/whatever, but unless you have MONTHS and MONTHS of forward testing profitable, it's worthless

Seriously though, if you've got something to sell in this business (it seems regardless of whether it's actually worth anything or not!) you need a salesman, promoter, and product launcher, someone like Brandon Fredrickson, that guy could sell sand to the Arabs! A low-life prick for sure but if money is your only objective then would it matter?

Alternatively if the system is that great you could just trade it and have a clear conscience by not ripping off the gullible.....
