I started forex trading to earn money with hope of huge profit but so far my hope did not came true.

I trade because it's the best idea I got, reasons:

 

  1. It is unique, no one from my natural circle & university colleagues do it
  2. I was somehow talented in learning forex stuff, back when I met forex the first time as a marketing staff of a local broker
  3. It gives me freedom, no one tells me what to do, me bossta ;-)
  4. It let me enjoy lots of spare time for my hobbies
  5. It can run with relatively small money but easily scalable for bigger results
  6. It stress-free & comfy for me

Also, I love trying to deconstruct a system/understand how it works (the system and the players), especially something surrounded by so much voodoo mystic propaganda as forex is.

i started trade year 2006 in stock options but moved to forex year 2010 because more excited, of course trade for living cost. I don't need to be rich, just make comfortable life. I'm still working in factory everyday but don't worry looking for overtime like other people, just keep 8 hrs/day bcause profit from trading cover most utility bills.
So with no overtime -> save time for my kids -> improve my health -> enjoy the life to the end of my life. That all i want.

This is EXACTLY the reason why I trade. Very glad you mentioned this one.
Not much to add to this. I will never ever dedicate my life to an uninteresting and in the end useless 9 to 5 job where I am fully dependent on the boss above me. In the end I will be my own boss, no matter what it takes. Will never go with the herd, even if that makes me feel bad at some times because it makes me feel different. Different because everyone is having this picture of a reliable 9 to 5 job in order to take care of the beautiful wife and kids. Well, I don't, I don't want to condition myself in being a servant with a "fake freedom".

There is much more to life, I believe we live only once so we have to live life to the fullest. If being successful is going to take me 25 years I honestly don't care. I will get there..

for Dopey and Robertk. I've always been interested in the financial markets but didn't know anything about it till I've joined a Financial Intermediary Company for a short period of time in 2003, and this is how I was bitten.

I like trading and enjoy analysis, and love being apart of the matrix

I've bought numerous courses on trading and Forex. Some on stocks and commodities and some of the older ones that are not Forex specific are the best. People think there is something unique about trading Forex but in general what works in trading works in any market.

The one that really helped me start seeing real profit and enabled me to finally quit my job was actually Trading Mastermind Forex course by Scott Shubert. Most people are not into doing what really works but thats good. The course used to be on forextradingseminar but I think its closed. I saw on a video that if you scroll down there is a button to get in but I don't know if its still there.

retail trading with small capital in forex has the biggest roi possible out of all the businesses out there. i got in because of the money. it has to be the best job available in the world right now if you become good at it.

Happened on a drink with a friend of mine.
He mentioned, that he went to a birthday party of a guy I went to school with, and that it was pretty extravagant - rented club, all drinks free, some fancy foods...

At the end of the story he told me: "I think he does Forex now."

This info, coupled with me feeling low for some days, was enough for the decission.
