I like it for order entry but I have to have a package that allows custom programming of indicators and systems...

I use Desk Top to manually enter orders while charting with free NinjaTrader.... which gets its quote feed from Desk Top.

Eventually Desk Top will have at least a scripting language and auto trading capability... but not yet...

MB also offers the SDK... which basically opens up Desk Top for custom programming... if you are a serious developer... I'd rather program C# in NinjaTrader's enviroment where Ninja takes care of a lot of stuff for me already, without having to custom program so much from scratch...

Desk Top is stable and the order entry selection and position management capability is fantastic.

IMHO the charting is ugly as sin.

The charting is what I am worried about. I don't use indicators much so no worries there. I thought about NinjaTrader also, but I see they seem to have a partnership with intellicharts.

Have you seen this page? You can use any of these... most are not free... some are at least in some version or other....

You can use these, ( NinjaTrader is there and I use it), but understand that when you do you are using a third party app that MB will not be able to give you telephone support for.... you need to go to the vendor for that.

Desk Top is MB's app and they will do whatever they can for you if you use it... they can even, with your permission... log onto your computer and diagnose something.

Over all yes... I used Trade Station for years, and I like NT better.... mainly because it is closer to programming purely C# and dot net..... I have the whole dot net library to build anything that can run on a windows machine in a lot more native way....

Only something that was ground up custom would be exactly the way I want it, but that means re-inventing the wheel over and over again, where NT has already built a lot of what I need... for example.. it already has a database for storing and editing quotes.... why build all that from scratch?

Anything that isn't 100% custom is always going to have areas I have to work around... I have decided to trade off pre-built ease of use against having everything exactly the way I want...

If you are manually entering orders you can use NinjaTrader for FREE as long as you want.... that's a pretty good deal.... Its also smart marketing...

Could someone check for me that micro orders at being charged at 4cents instead of 3cents?

For limit orders they are still rebating 2cents but market orders are being charged at 4cents.
We're all stories in the end. Just try to make it a good one.

Would depend what pair. GBPUSD should be $0.04 comm on market orders, which is rounded from 1.5383 X 0.0295 at the moment. They should really be charging $0.05 on that since that's $0.04538.
