Yeah...QE3 is ever the wild card (apart from Europe's demise! ). Ordinarily I would agree it has little chance to come to light, but with an election five months out...I can't say every bone in my body says NO way. Nothing gets votes like free money, but...maybe it would backfire this time? Do the American people really want the presses going back into overdrive?

no definitely not. I cant' say NO way either, maybe eventually... but they may have jumped the gun on a qe3 play. I am more inclined to think this was just TP's going into the weekend with all the rumors and shit being spewed about official rate checks and bs as usual. We still have Greek elections June 17th and a greece default following... lol

Also more important for me this week is the ECB... maybe more LTRO, a cut, bond buying... thats why i feel today is not gonna go anywhere far, but starting tomorrow into wed should be something sweet. They gotta do something soon...

we saw no such reversal on spx or oil....

Yeah...not all of my brokers have them...only one of mine does. That's another reason I don't do it so often. They are interesting to watch, though, but...

Using XAU/USD, AUD/USD, EUR/USD and EUR/AUD, you can do anything that XAU/AUD or XAU/EUR would be doing differently from XAU/USD. Holy mouthful!

very true normally i would not even care bout em and to be honest didnt even know my broker had them till recently. I only say might be interesting to watch for xau/usd to maybe see whats going on with the gold pop in general... but maybe they're not worth shit. That's why i asked lol

Yeah man...oil in free fall! Europe/Greece...PIIGS...wherever? Just a shit show! I guess we've fallen pretty far, so any bit of hopium produced may be met with a relief rally of open arms...if only to get better positions. If I'm a big fat bastard looking to sell...I want a few hundred pips north from here...maybe 2650. But...is there enough hopium out there for that kind of bounce? There are just SO many things wrong at the moment...tough to picture a fairytale ending...or the beginning of an ending!

totally man, nothing wrong with booking some profit ahead of the risks this week and over the weekend for the fat bastards. I doubt this is any bottom yet, no confirmation on that technically or fundamentally in my opinion. While nothings going on maybe they can swing a bit higher for some stops but thats about all I can see, nothing to really worry the bears, even if the market is short as hell euro and long usd.

For me, its all about the lights going on in my head as quick as possible. If watching XAU/EUR triggers my brain that Gold is rising against the USD quicker than the EUR, and therefore gets me long XAU/USD, rather than EURUSD...fine by me.

Can also be handy if you have a Euro (or Aussie) based account. Makes lot sizing a little more logical.

exactly, but on the other hand if its just noise causing confusion then screw it always rather keep it as simple as possible.

good second point, that also crossed my mind as well as leverage.
