Hi Chonchy, and all.


The video of the three prima donas… hmm, may I chose to admire DOROTHY HODGKIN, LISE MEITNER and ROSALIND FRANKLIN instead; as these women have contributed far more to my standard of living, and everyone else’s who reads this thread, than the three seekers of public adulation preying upon the dwindling disposable incomes of said public. Indeed, I would add that based upon an assumption of the budget expended for the advertisement of a product produced by a company with dubious ethical standards, the money could have secured for my choice of three women to admire, a fairer public appreciation of their contribution to our physical world, and encourage more girls to emulate the standards set by these pioneering women – and I could have chosen many more - as opposed to the modern aspiration to have the perfect Hollywood pose. Namely; teeth, tits and toes.


Moving on from one rant, to another based more upon speculation. Is anyone else sensing a cloud of impending doom moving over us? I ask as I am still unsure of what to make of Mario Draghi’s rather troubling speech a few days ago to the world’s press – remember, these harbingers of our demise do not often speak so plainly. Essentially, he told us all that without concerted action, Europe is going to slide over the edge... at about the same time, and in line with comments that I made a year or so ago, Mariano Rajoy, the Spanish prime minister, called for the eurozone to have “centralised control” over the budgets of all the countries using the euro. Ah, you mean that federation by force that I keep banging on about, but which until this statement, had been refuted many times. It’s coming, and then who knows how the European public will act… I hope by a fanfare fuelled with cocktails of the Molotov, and not Martini kind.


Not spoken much of behind the desperate attempts by those in the backroom that release nonsense statements about containment, growth, stabilization, and massaged figures that the public, one hopes, does not believe anymore, is the very probable collapse of the banking sectors that, within this globalised world, are not contained to specific geographies. I, of course, have in mind the 700 Trillion Dollar derivatives headache. You don’t see this discussed much in any mainstream media – much to the disgrace of these state-controlled/manipulated/threatened institutions as they present a sense of sage management by authority… an authority that is trying desperately to quell public awareness/ bank runs.


Greece has no dosh left for the public to withdraw, but one can see the withdrawals/bank runs occurring in Spain – forget the news about this just being specific to Bankia, I was in Spain the week before last, and people are withdrawing to the tune of tens of billions a month from all banks. Friends in Italy report similar bank runs. In short, authority has lost the confidence of the public, and once this happens, it is very hard to regain it without some paradigm shift at the top… and Brussels won’t allow this to happen, and so the race is on – to the bottom.


Think about this: Mario Draghi has been pumping a Trillion Euros of our money into a dysfunctional, corrupt sector of commerce every month for the past last three months. Three months! And still the slide gathers pace – down. This money is in addition to all the rest, and it is proven by record that each injection of taxpayer’s life into the corpse of current fiscal structure is more than that previous. The flogging a dead horse metaphor springs to mind here, as it will not prevent the 700 Trillion Dollars of derivative debt hitting the real world full on. He will fail – he cannot fail not to – and so we are truly FUBAR as the banks begin to collapse. I’m not sure if it will start in Spain, but as soon as one major bank falls, the domino effect will begin. Will it be a European bank – not sure, as most are backed up by the top ten in the US… all of which have debts of approximately 26 Trillion Dollars, each! If one of these goes, well, it won’t be a pop that is heard, but a BANG.


What riles me the most is that we all knew from the beginning that had authority really had the public’s welfare in mind, we would not have seen authority adopt the ‘too big to fall’ mantra. No, they would have sliced the jugulars of those that believed that they were untouchable, as opposed to illegally – treaty breaks and such like that are far too many to describe here, but are fine for authority to break, but should any of us have done similar, would have seen us in the dock, and then in jail - placing a needle into the arm of the weak. I mean, Mario surely knew when he took the reins that the money that he pumped into the rancid mouths of the vampire elite – better to feed them out of the public eye, as opposed to the public seeing the bite on their necks, and potentially being able to defend themselves – was an utter, utter waste of our money, but which allowed for those in the privileged backroom to organise their affairs accordingly; so that when the proverbial hits the fan, they will be shielded somewhat, whilst we have but our bodies to place in the way of the debris that will fall from the collapse, and thus be subject to fracture and breakage.


I cannot express how angry I am, but I can help others to sink to my level of melancholy by reminding all of how authority, be this in the form of Mario Draghi or others, have but the survival of the banking fraternity at heart, if/when the derivative time bomb explodes: In order for the meek – that’s us taxpayers, should anyone be confused by my reference – to collect all bills, most banks around Europe have been buying sovereign bonds, as this allows for any fallout from defaults to land on the taxpayers’ tables… as bonds are guaranteed by the Governments that issued them. The only way to avoid this is if Governments fall… which in Europe, is the kind of event that sparks fighting that in this hotchpotch continent has for many a century seen a lot of bloodshed.


I have read that July of this year will see the beginning of the nasty shower, but I think this will be in the form of printing, as no Government ever had the balls to do the right thing – it’s too late now, anyway – and so our depression, and we are in the initial stages of one, becomes more acute as Governments try the easy route of inflating their way out of debt. A possible resolution if only one country is in trouble, but with Europe, the US, and China in rapid lockdown, this is not going to work.

Where’s that reset button…

And now for the lighter side of life… as experienced by the hand of providence unnamed.

After securing my loss back on Friday, and feeling rather pleased with myself, I went to the stables. My sense of wellbeing was quickly knocked back down as I was flagged over by the Gendarmerie. Driving a UK-plated car, I tried the confused Englishman routine, and thus, spoke no French with the two twenty-something women who had just caught me speeding. Yes, I thought it strange that there was no male there – considering how irate some male members of the public can be when in such situations.

Needless to say, I was handed an on-the-spot fine of 90 Euros – to be paid in cash right there. Gutted, was I, and so after handing over the money, I stated that, as much as I would like to wish them a good weekend, they had pissed on mine, and so I hoped that they had a bad weekend. I’m not sure if they saw the lighter side of my comment, or did not understand, but they laughed anyway… not sure if at my humour, or the fact that they had pissed on my weekend.

If the aforementioned wasn’t bad enough, I tried to boot up my ODL MT4 charts yesterday, and was greeted with the message that it was an old version. Normally, it automatically updates, but not this weekend. As ODL was bought out by FXCM, I contacted FXCM, only to be told that metaquotes had recently updated their platform, and that I should open an MT4 account with FXCM. I explained that I have an account with them using TradeStation II, and that I have not had any problems with my ODL platform during the several years since FXCM had bought them out. This was met with silence. I’ve still to hear back from them, and so cannot run any technical analysis.

Pff… some days.

In addition to this, I have been reading the sentiment from those that are apparently in the know regarding how with the dire manufacturing data from last Friday for the UK is spurring on the need for more QE, and which be announced by the BoE next Thursday. Couple this with my thoughts regarding the NFP number and chart suggestions, and I am looking for longs... yes, against a prevaling trend, but my gut tells me that this is the path, and that something will be done to improve the woes in Spain within the next few weeks.

Indeed I did... work has taken me to Israel on quite a few occasions, with the requisite relaxing on the beaches duly indulged in.

Not sure what those girls eat out there, but I have to say, the beaches of Israel are some of the finest to frequent in the world.

And it's funny, if staying in one of the Sheratons, or other hotels in Tel Aviv, Haifa etcetera, to see the morning run of the gunships patrolling the front, and the daily mine sweeping of the sand prior to the deluge of eye-soothers moving onto it for the day.

Ah, if only the country was not so F**ked up...
