Hello,

I search a way, where I can configure the start time and close time of a day candle.

For example, a market is open from 8 a.m to 10 p.m. So the the normal day candle uses this period for the high, low, open and close.

But I want a day candle which uses the period 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m to calculate the high, low, open and close for the daily bars.

Iīve already found period converters but still now, not the right one.
Hope someone can help me.

Best regards

WoMaie

Hi Jse Alsi,

unfortunatly still now , I have no solution.

But perhaps someone knows another way for my problem.

I want to use the MACD on daily charts. But the MACD should not use the close time at 10 p.m. for his calculations, instead the MACD should use a custom close time, for example 8.30 p.m.

Kind regards

WoMaie

Yes i allso need a custom open time ,basicly to cover the newyork session or say london sesion or both ,the rest is just chaff . I dont trade fx but rather the jse alsi (south african allshare index ,top 40) ,for that i use a diff chart. Its the most volatile instrument i know off 350-600+ points a dayhttp://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

The range of the jse alsi isnīt bad. But my broker has a variable spread of 30 for it. So you canīt seduce me.

This chart shows daily bars for EURUSD, but only includes prices between 0800 and 1700 (user definable). Is this something like what you are trying to do?

zznbrm Thats it , well done please post ,greatly apprecited . Womaie, haha ye 30 is a but much ,IH has just started with a spread of 15 , the SA brokers are way less ,DWT is about R7 per trade i think and u deal direct into the JSE ,no desk . Anyway thats not the issue, i think u found what u looking for ,good luck and please share your strat. P.S. If i didnt have the ALSi ,I would head for the Germ. Dax. Very smooth and predictable.

@Jse Alsi: So you know, why I prefer the dax. Daily range of 150 P, but only 1 P spread. And in my case, I mustnīt trade at night.

I've attached a MT4 script (compiled with build 427) that shows one way to do it. This script will create an offline chart for your data.

Example usage to create a custom daily chart for EURUSD using prices between 0800 and 1700 (broker time), starting on Jan 1, 2011 until today:

1) Add script to EURUSD H1 chart.

2) Enter user inputs

edtFirstDayOpen = 2011.01.01 08:00
edtFirstDayClose = 2011.01.01 16:59
eintOfflineTimeframe = 1430 (or whatever you want)

3) Select the "File...Open Offline" menu item

4) Select the "EURUSD,M1430" chart and open it

5) Use offline chart like any other chart (add indicators, apply templates, etc)

Of course, you'll want to update the script per any personal requirements and broker idiosyncrasies.

Good luck.

Hello zznbrm,

here is a picture of the transformed Dax.

http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=2...104341fc53.png

1. You see, there are no bars before
the 10th february,even though I used the normal settings (D'2011.01.01)
and the source timeframe "M30" has still data.

2. The script seems to have problems with bank holidays 04.06,04.09 and 05.01 (see the arrows).

Do you have an idea, whatīs going wrong?

Kind regards

WoMaie

Ignored
Well, you did not adjust the script for your needs. If you want to skip holidays, you need to add code to do that. See the attached script. It will skip days where data is missing (and print a message in the Experts tab). It does not distinguish between holidays and days where you are simply missing data. If you want that, adjust the code to do that.

I assume you are using FxPro. I don't know what to tell you about data missing before Feb 10. Works fine for me on FxPro:

@zznbrm:
Great job,
now it works fine.
I donīt know, with the new script, I have data up to oct. 2011. So more than enough. Perhaps a special FXPro problem. I will test some pairs and let you know.

Hi all, I am a Spanish trader. First, I apologize for my bad English. I'll explain what I need.

I trade DAX. When start the day, we usually start with Gap, so previous day's closing and opening of this day are different

So, the indicator that I need:

- Two horizontal lines (opening day and previous day close). Opening (time 8:00). Close (time: 21:45). [In chart: red and green lines]. Sometimes it will close above the opening and other times it will be backwards. [The line is above: green. The line that is below: red]

Greetings to all and thanks in advance
