I have seen "untrusted markets" in the DAX CFD a few times, mostly around news. The whole book goes blank and you cant trade for a few seconds. I think its quite a bad idea to do that, but atleast you know when its likely to happen (news). I have never seen that happen in FX tho, and i stare at the quote screen pretty much all day.

Slippage appears to be rather minimal, but i have not collected stats on this. But its reasonable to assume it can happen with stop and mkt orders on high impact news, like everywhere else.

How about the spread during news announcement? Will it goes as high as Oanda's spread, like 10-20pips?

Slippage is completely understandable during high market volatility. However if there is no 'last look' from LP, then the slippage should be minimal compare to others ECN/STP because you either get filled at current tick or the next tick, but not a couple of ticks away.

In fact it is the 'last look' that draw my eyeball on LMAX, a feature that you cant find with other spot FX brokers.

No last look from market makers on LMAX, and you are correct, slippage is minimal. Depends how quick you are, if you hit a price, you are done...

Spreads do go wide on news, as expected, but most of the times this is between 5-6 pips the most.

Did anyone just get a random email offering an LMAX account for $1000 deposit rather than $10,000 and free access to multi charts?

I haven't used LMAX yet and was weighing up between Oz brokers and UK brokers but my mind may have been made up if this offer is genuine.

Has anyone compared LMAX to Pepperstone?

The spread of CADJPY on Armada demo account widen to 16pips after the CAD retail sales announcement and last for 16minutes. Can anyone confirm whether this is happened on live account too?

On this screenshot it looks like it lasts for almost 3 hours?

I dont want that particular cross, but you can always confirm live quotes on the lmax website.

The timestamp of the tick chart does not same with the timestamp of M1 bar. The screenshot actually showed the last 500 ticks only.

Can anyone point me to any information online about the current state of LMAX Limited? How much capital do they have and what is the current strength of the company? I read that they have 150 million pounds of equity but I also read that they made a loss of 13.5 million pounds last year. Will they stand the test of time, will they still be around long-term or are they on a downward spiral to bankruptcy? Their FX offering seems to be the best on the planet for retail traders but if the company is not in good standing then we will be risking the loss of our fx account deposits with them.

Also if we join LMAX through Armada or FastBrokers, who will hold our FX account deposits, LMAX or the Introducing Brokers?

Yeah that's my point. Nothing new/impressive.

But more IB's = more competition = good. So hopefully we'll be seeing more of them (we probably will).

I realize I wasn't a huge fan of LMAX initially, but with the liquidity and spreads getting this good and with decent IB's starting to appear (so we're not stuck with the original bröker's conditions), I have changed my mind.

This exchange is a huge addition to the retail FX bröker market. You've been right about that.

Two things. There's kind of discrepancy there. On their home page they say: 0.25$ comm. On the account type page they say 7.80$ per round turn.
Secondly, y-day I've received the following ad:
"Be one of the first to experience trading on MetaTrader4 with the only true Forex Exchange available to retail clients - The LMAX Exchange. MetaTrader4, along with the standard LMAX web trader, is only available to LMAX Live account holders.

If you open an LMAX account directly from the Application Form links in this email then you can also benefit from the following Exclusive Offers. These offers are only available via this email!"

and the offer is 1,000$ opening deposit.
So why do we need an IB?

Trading via mt4 is more expensive that via lmax's web interface.

They also charge extra for trading via api.

This is what I hate about lmax: thier inconsitent (stupid) policy. It does not make sense to me to tax different trading venues differently. They seem to not to want clients, but, otoh, they desperately need clients..
