Not really. Its a very small portion of the total market. Not to mention, lots of futures volume could be hedges against option positions, and even against spot postions.

well i must say that using it helped me pick the exact bottom in cable in 2010, just wish i'd held the damn thing, lol..

volume is a little different story, might be a tad more useful, and its more accurate now that most trading takes place on the screen...

sure you can pick up various tid bits, but like I said, markets that are smaller, you can get a better picture...but when you look at say the Eminis, good luck, on a busy few days, the entire open interest might change hands, throw in the spot and option hedgers, and well you get the idea..

scroll down, under FX futures, its Euro FX...if I'm not mistaken...not to be confused with Eurodollars which are in the interest rate category..

just wondering if oi could be used as a general gauge for bullish/bearish control, when trying to understand longer term direction and potential reversal areas on the daily chart..

there's a section on it in alex elder's book, trading for a living, will have to dust it off and have a read..
