I'm a bit unsure about ECAD at the moment. I'm still waiting to go big, just did a little bit of scalping in the last 12 hours.

I have taken some interest in this pair because of you, I had a small long yesterday (1st trade with this pair) which paid 30 pips I should have kept it as it went up another 40 pips.
I do like this pair as it seem to respect the tech better than the eur/usd.

Glad to see this pair a d only reason I'm looking at it of late is because of kw on eurusd thread.
Questions
Do you see this pair move during London, ny or Asian open?
My opinion oil Prices will maintain in this level or as far down to $89/barrel unless we see war in the middle east. Also if we are in deep depression oil should also stay down. Then we see a short on this Pair.
Also remember that cad is increasing interest rate soon which will drive the cad higher.
A few things to remember with this Pair IMHO.

EC great pair moved 70 pips today look at H1 such a nice PA. London hours traditionally are the best to trade I don't trade Asia I need to sleep sometimes.
We may be in for a bounce back up but trading is done for me for today,

It is my experience that Ucad is more dependend on oil prices than Ecad, but it is an interesting topic anyway and deserves more research.

Great thread KW!

I love trading this pair when one of its majors is being held and exposing the disparity.

The UCAD finally cracked the top of the 3 month channel it has been sitting in and it currently testing parity... IMHO this sucker is gonna pop due to the current economic climate of drastic risk aversion leading to commodities pricing dropping rapidly in the face of strengthening flows to the USD...

As for the EU it is always a bit tricky because of the fluid situation in Europe and the fact the ECB is always so helpful in propping up their beloved Euro. Right now the EU is dead center of a massive hop zone and I expect it to hold this way for some time.

So as the EU is held and the channels are becoming hardwired the EC should show us some upward movement as the CAD weakens as oil drops and the Euro doesnt really move anywhere

I am looking for a reversal setup in the channel between 1.2912 and 1.2950

Thanks Wulf, I hope you're right, but also realize this: we have 2 weak currencies together here, CAD weak because commodities are weak and Eur weak well we all know why.
And yes, the lower it goes in the channel the more I buy at the moment.

ya no doubt buying it right now is CTT to the longer term move down.... but it should retest at least the 3025 if not a bit higher... of course a close on 4hr/daily below 2928 is def a sure sign we are in for a real slide
