I'm going to study it immediately with 3-3-13. Anyway instead of using a level to find momentum with the fast sma we can add a longer sma period and then search for a cross of them..let's see

Seller9, it's seems something isn't working. When standard histogram rb time signs a low value, your .ex signs a big one.
Current bar time must come from current closed candle time value and not from last closed one. The same is needed for ma values. Thank you.

nb: a hard work is needed to evaluate a correct setting for time sma. I'm trying..

and the follow image shows anyway the results with a double sma cross filter.

Quite incredible results using the following settings:

  1. eurusd
  2. renko bars 4 boxed (wicked)
  3. ichi 3-3-13
  4. 1st sma period 3 (waiting for a simple time graph corrected I implemented this method) min limit -500 max 4000
  5. 2nd sma period 13 min limit -500 max 4000
  6. hidden s/l or broker s/l - edit- following kumo at -4



Results:

  1. only seven (edited) minor losses (4-10 -edit- pips each one)
  2. six major position with a total gain of about 270 pips

 

  1. note: some red dotted line are highlighted also if included in the major good positions and, if using hidden s/l some of those could be intercepted while using broker s/l the positions ended with maximum results
  2. note2(edit): we need some rule to fix max dimension of time to have a more readable window, obviously without loosing functionality
  3. note3(edit):As a first study, double cross sma periods seems more accurate then single sma crossing time (also last version fixed). So maybe we can go on with double sma forgetting simple time moving.

May I ask what you are using to generate your Range Bar Charts??
Look at my screen shot below where I have a lot of bars next to each other the same, where you don't seem to have any of these in this type of pattern, I believe this affects my sma indicator on my charts.

Your chart is showing your sma does indeed recalculate on everybar.

Yes it does, but with those groups of bars the same it may give a false impression of what the sma is. Lock's charts are cleaner with out these groups. My charts have the price bars when in those groups going back into the cloud where lock's continue to stay out and then do not get you kicked out of a trade. I am looking at different indicators and EAs to see if I can find a cleaner one than the one I presently use.

Is there a discussion thread about the PVS EA anywhere? I have been fiddling around with it the last couple of days. Is there a way you could add the function to open more than one trade at a time in the same direction? Using the take profit of the first opened trade or using a breakeven type profits after x amount of pips drawdown.I think this would help alleviate some of the drawdown issues, either by expanding profit or using a basket for profits when huge drawdown kicks in. I am using PVS v1 build 409.

currently I'm using a plug-in bought on the net called "Backtestable* Renko plugin". It is extremely reliable and stable but, anyway, previously I used to work with an indy ea posted by maxzeus in the ichi thread here. It is RenkoLiveChart_v3.3.ex4 (to put in the ea folder) It creates exactly the same kind of renko I'm using now (with or without wicks)

*limitations in backtesting renko are well known especially with small box size, but the plug-in could create some kind of special renko charts a little more reliable then standard ones. But I'm not backtesting renko even so.

You can duscuss it here, I haven't had time to keep up with it but will be adding some more to it this week. The latest is pivots_v4, you can download it from the first page. I haven't had time to test it so that can be your project. There are 2 rules, you may want to test each one separately and also it has a take profit of R1 or S1 depending on the type of trade. Leave TP at zero if you want to use this setting, otherwise the TP overides it. The two rules only take trades betwen R1 and S1, so if PA is outside this area, no trades will be taken with these 2 rules. I run it on a H1 chart and it still has the built in time trading period.

Let us know how it goes, and I will get to adding some more things to it this week, such as partial close.

Thanks for the info, yes I found that one "RenkoLiveChart_v3.4.ex4 " and it seems to show better results, so I will be using it, I did find v3.4 so will use it. I do need to run a tic script to get it to create the bars on the weekend though since its an EA, but thats no problem.

I have added the 3 sma and 13 sma to the EA and will see what it does when the market opens on filtering.

I will run two demo accounts on the same Broker on 7 pairs, one with filter and one without, just a rough test. So if you have any changes you want made to the filter please let me know, this is just a rough start with it using just the 3 sma and 13 sma. When the 3 sma <= 13 sma it is OK to take the trade, otherwise no trade is allowed.

i was using the KG Range bars at first the same as you but switched to the one Lock posted, since im not a coder i still succesfully modified them to be INDICATORS instead of EA's or Scripts i included screenshots of EUR/CAD showing the difference in the BARS generated.

i did this because i had the "RenkoLiveChart-Not EA" indi but was missing the MAX BARS so i added the max bars to that indi, but decided to use the more updated EA's below and change them into INDICATORS including the MAX BARS and including one that can generate 2 OFFLINE charts for 1 PAIR so less stressfull for slower CPU's also good if you want to use it with Stratmans Mini chart to view the 2nd OFFLINE CHART as seen in my pic below

-RenkoLiveChart_Indi-Bars (this is to feed 1x offline chart only)
-RenkoLiveChart_v3.3x2_Indi-Bars (this creates 2x offline charts at once of the same PAIR) (thanks to a "Apoksiomen" poster in MIhailo's thread)

i'll add one with the v3.4 (EA) but i cannot convert this into an INDI since it's only available in ex4 format no MQL4, i remember comparing v3.4 and v3.3 and there was'nt no difference as i recall, but i'll try it for now with the ichimoku settings that is included in the TOOLBOX, looking forward to the updated Ichimoku v11.

but i do agree that is a CLEAN CHART you have there.

Not worried as long that we can LOAD the BOAT full of PIPS, i'll be happy
